    1. This one showed today. A screwback EK1 marked 800 for silver content.
    2. Just recieved this nice EK1 screwback with the mysterious square mark. It's been said to be a quality control mark maybe.
    3. I don't know if there is a comprehensive list of EK1 winners. It wasn't a particularly rare award, so we are talking hundreds of thousands of names. There are memebers here who do have access or knowledge of individuals that might tell which awards they won.
    4. Wow, that's a great one. The rich get richer once again.
    5. That's alot of cheddar! No doubt a nice piece, but I don't see how I could enjoy it after my family had me taken away in a white truck to the local nuthouse for spending that much.
    6. Here's the rear of the EW parade mount. I showed this because it appears homemade, with a sharp pin and safety pin soldered on a plate.
    7. It's been awhile since I've picked up a new marked EK2, but two single parade mounts showed today and both were marked with makers I do not have, which was a pleasant surprise becasue I only bought these because they were parade mounted. Both of these are nice examples. he first is marked IW.
    8. This interesting piece arrived today. It appears to have a sheet metal core. It looked diffrent so I took a chance. It wasn't expensive. It is very light weight. I was afraid it would blow away when I took the photos. It is magnetic and 3 piece construction. The hardware looks period type with a nice needle pin. Frame appears to be silver. It is not marked. I like to collect variants so this on intrigued me. What does everyone think of this one? Anyone ever come across such a thing? Was it some bargain cross? These have many variations as you all know, so it seems possible. Too bad about all the paint loss, but nothing holds paint better than the traditional iron cores.
    9. Some pictures would be nice, but this particular set up has to really be watched. They did exist but have been faked alot. Engraved pieces also have to be watched. Think about it, what would a legit EK/spange combo with period engraving go for? I'm not saying your item isn't good but some pictures would really help.
    10. Yes, just by looking at that list, which in my mind is just a guideline, the Frank and Reif seems to be a way of fitting a name to mark. This has been one of the more contensious matchings of a name to a maker mark.
    11. KAG is a fairly common maker, seemingly more common in the 2nd class than the 1st class, but definatley not rare. It is no where near as common as KO in my opinion. The marking always seems to be on the pin and two diffrent core types have been ID'ed, the standard core and one known as a wide crown which is harder to find. There are also a couple of diffrent types of hardware that have been seen, ie pin variations. KAG is an unknown maker in that the firm has not been identified. KAGs are usually flat, not vaulted and are considered wartime award pieces as opposed to private purchase pieces. Nice crosses for sure. Pictures would help all the same to ensure authenticity.
