    1. I was able to add to my Marshals prototype board collection a board that is super rare, but not a true 'prototype'; on left is the standard M1943 Marshal of the USSR service-parade board, used from 2/4 1943. On the right is the 'large star' board that was the first pattern Marshal USSR board that was used from 1/15 1943 until 2/4 1943. Its possible they were just made for the design process. The question with these boards is if they were actually ever worn. I tend to doubt it in such a short period of time, but some examples were made ( I know of at least 2 other sets) and so is not in the unique prototype category. If the first pattern were worn, I'd kill for a photo of them being worn! DD
    2. The bottle boards for officers were like the "wave" boards for NKVD/NKGB Generals; they were supposed to be NKGB but seem to have been used by NKVD while NKGB seemed to have used the regular boards too. Really difficult to nail down; I could post shots of all these on tunics...if i could post pics : ( Here is a nice shot of an NKGB General following Malenkov at the VP in 1945; his boards have the "wave". 3. Hey Rick, ...I am still not changing my KGB Generals opinion until I see a genuine, issued, 'KGB Generals' uniform. One should have shown up by now, and all we have seen are some bit-parts, while such places as the KGB museum have red piped KGB generals uniforms on dsiplay...i have seen the green piped but the blue eludes me...i saw one in Tallinn last year for sale but it had lots of 'issues'.
