    1. I was thinking the silver SEHO medal as well Gerd. Does anyone have a pic of this medal in an 1870 group? Thanks gentlemen, I think I'll keep it as a large ribbon bar for the time being! cheers Jason
    2. Here's the reverse of the other one I have, very similar style of mounting plate. cheers Jason
    3. Then the pic of the reverse made my mind up for me. Seems to me a 1870 group has been "doctored" into something else. I have another 1866/1870 bar with a similar construction style as this one. Seems to make sense to me, but what do you gents think? Am I on the right track? cheers Jason
    4. Evening Gents Was lucky enough to spot this one locally. Until I got the reverse pics from the seller, I was under the impression just the Honour Legion medal was incorrect to the bar, no big deal but.......
    5. Hi Red, I couldn't see anything on the CO, although I had a good close look at it. cheers Jason
    6. Hello Gents I saw this bar around 7 years ago, and I have finally been able to photograph it. Since I have never seen an 1870 bar with an EK2 "in the flesh" down under some opinions on the bar as a whole would be really appreciated. I'm not entirely sure if 2 long service awards are legit on a bar of this age. Thanks in advance! Jason
    7. Hello Gents, to revive a slightly old thread....I have just picked this up today. This information in this thread helped me decide on the purchase, so thanks to everyone! cheers Jason
    8. My small contribution to the thread....with a Polizei 18 year device as well. cheers Jason
    9. Good evening Gents My ongoing quest to unite medal bars and ribbon bars is starting to yield results. This little DRP marked ribbon bar arrived in the post today, looking very comfortable above its matching medal bar. cheers Jason
    10. Not quite Imperial I know, but the only other medal in its packet I have.... cheers Jason
    11. Here's my Silver FAM in its beige packet, pencilled with the recipients name which looks like "Unteroffizier Schmidt" cheers Jason
    12. Thanks for the info Thomas, its made the decision to commit to the purchase a whole lot easier. I've never seen a helmet as complete as this one in a long time down here. Last one I saw (7 years ago!) was a Bavarian enlisted with war-time fittings that was pretty much falling apart. Cheers for your input as well Tony! Cant wait to get it paid off now!! cheers! Jas
    13. Cheers Tony, all the fittings are really firmly fixed in place, and the amount of gunk and dust under the plate and spine look enough to grow potatoes in! The liner in firmly fixed as well, and the chin strap seems the same throughout. Either way, the chances of another coming my way for this price down here are pretty remote, most are brand new repros being sold as ornaments....and yes....the shop is local! thanks for your help! Jas
    14. So apart from the left hand cockade, I think it may be ok, but any opinions are very welcome! cheers! Jason
