    1. Thanks for your kind comment Joe. Still looking for a nice pickelhaube to go with this! cheers Jason
    2. "A" stamp on the top of the helmet. Can anyone shed any light on this? cheers Jason
    3. Since I'm playing with the camera tonight, I decided to get some decent shots of my only piece of headgear. Thanks have to go to my long-suffering girlfriend for holding the beast. Its a nice one, all the liner is complete with pads and chin strap. cheers Jason
    4. Thanks Rick. Here's the reverse - any excuse to play with the camera!! cheers Jason
    5. I can only contribute 2 singles to this thread. First up, one of the nicest bow mountings of an Honour Cross I've seen. cheers Jason
    6. Hello gents, here's my contribution - one of the first bars I ever got many moons ago. I like this one because of the way the medals are attached, very subtle use of thread especially on the EK2 - colour co-ordinated cheers Jason
    7. Gday Paul...yeah I know! 2 years is a long time, but I've been in no rush to complete it....and having been to the shop in person, he has some nice pieces in there that are rather tempting (and apparently some more on the way)! I'm considering a pair of skis for the ongoing plunge down the slippery slope!! cheers Jason
    8. I originally got this bar without the medals, took about 12 months to get the EK2, and (finally) today picked up the Baden medal from a local dealer! cheers Jason
    9. Gday Paul, I have some information somewhere in the chaos of my desk about it, but i'll have to rely on memory. If i'm wrong i apologise! It was awarded to troops who took part in the assault on the Duppel Redoubt on 18 April 1864, so it was more like a campaign or battle award. The official award version was struck in white bronze, and (this is really pushing the brain!!) there were just over 31,000 awarded. I remember an exact figure was given on another forum, but just can't quite remember it! If anyone has anyhting to add to this, please do!! cheers Jason
    10. The 50% rule I have for medal bars means if a group has 50% (or more) medals I don't have already mounted then its a serious proposition! I'm pretty flexible when it comes to Hindenburg Crosses though. It may seem a little weird, and I've probably missed a lot of nice groups, but half the fun for me is the search for something different, like this group! cheers Jason
    11. I saw that medal bar in your sale Rick, i was sorely tempted, but my binding 50% rule (and a clip over the ear from my girlfriend) came into force and stopped me unfortunately! Still, a beautiful bar! cheers Jason
