Hi Rick! you wouldn't believe it, its the Kodak digital camera here at work, the latest greatest thing, so therefore I can only get in line to use it...."oh yes Kate, I'm going on a short site visit to inspect a tenancy, and I desperately need to take pictures....!" cheers Jason
The EK2 is stamped "938" on the ring. The mounter must have known something, its the only part of the ring that you can see between the ribbon folds!! Anyway, heres the back. cheers Jason
Hi Paul, nice pick up. This is my little pre-1934 pair, the golden medal is marked "835" on the smaller ring. I heard somewhere once there were something like 4000-5000 awarded but can't be sure. cheers Jason
Thanks guys, this is a real help. There's just something about Saxon awards.....I suppose now I should put up my examples of these awards!! cheers Jason
Gday gents, just a simple question for those in the know...what was the criteria for the award of the Saxon Honour Cross with Swords and the Saxon "War Merit Cross"? I'm really starting to get into Saxon awards and would like to learn more! cheers Jason
Hello gents, I'm thinking of moving onto trying to acquire a set of navy wound badges, but have had zero opportunity to even handle one. Can anyone out there offer some advice on what to look for in an original? It seems there are plenty of fakes floating around and I really don't want to take a chance on a dodgy one! cheers Jason
Hi Mike, I'll jump in on the ribbon question, its simply faded badly, the reverse of it is still reasonably bright. Due to the quality of my reduction its a bit hard to make it out properly, but its definitely a non combatant ribbon! cheers Jason
