    1. Thanks Wild Card. It is going to be fun to trace out his career. My earliest RL is 1879. I can track him through the 1880's and 90's. I would like to find a pic of him but the chances are very slim. Once I get his ordensspange in hand I post it.
    2. I know this post may not go here but this forum has the most responsive members. I would like to get the death notice for General Werner Kienitz. He died in Hamburg 31 December 1959. I would like to write to a newspaper in Hamburg. Can anyone tell the name of the newspaper in Hamburg Germany that may have had his death notice? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
    3. I am researching a Honnoverian General Arnold von Behm 1842-1924. I bought his medalbar but don't have it in my hands. Does any one have his posting information or any pictures? I'll post the bar when I recieve it. Dan Krause did the initial trace.
    4. Does anyone have any pics of Werner Kienitz? He was a Knight's Cross holder and HOH holder in WWI. If you have a pic and can post it I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
    5. I did check and there are no hooks behind the ribbons. I tried to part the ribbons and look and nothing.
    6. I finally recieved from Germany this 5 place Bayern style ribbon bar consisting of: 1914 EK2 MVO MVK Hindenburg Hanseactic or peacetime Red Eagle Order This is strickly a ribbon bar as there are not any hooks for attached medals.
    7. The book is in the process of being updated and reprinted. It will be expanded and a large format. If you would like to order it go to www.windorepress.com
    8. Claudio, I like your format for the page. Is it in MS Word format? Is it possible to get the file?
    9. Next up is an unusual 5 place bar that is only 10mm high. It has the follow: 1. 1914 EK2 2. Hamburg 3. Hindenburg 4. Wehrmacht LS 5. Wehrmacht LS I have provided a close up of the eagles. Any comments on either bar is appreciated.
    10. First up is a 8 place Imperial and TR bar in the Bayern style with the following: 1. 1914 EK2 2. Bayern MMO or MVO 3. Hessen General Service 4. Sax-Meiningen 5. Hindenburg 6. Long Service? 7. Long Service? 8. Maybe peacetime Red Eagle Order The Bayern ribbon and the Sax ribbon have a hole for a device and the LS ribbons, as best as I can tell do not.
    11. Wild Card. Thank you for your efforts on this matter. This solution serves all parties.
    12. Heiko, I am so very sorry to hear this news! I go to many of the big shows in the USA and will keep an eye out for anything.
    13. Gentlemen, I have tried to refrain from adding my 2 cents here, but I just can't. All people in this discussion have valid points. If I have added to the problem I again apologize. I would like to retun to the purpose of this forum which is to share information and knowledge. Too often, and I am as guilty as anyone, we let our passion get the best of us. I need to remember that this is a hobby. While I enjoy collecting and researching I also value the friends that I have made in the hobby. I need to not lose track of this and remember that this hobby is fun! Last year when I went to Germany I purchased a few medal bars and visited a few people. When I tell people about my trip to Germany I forget to talk about the medals because it was more important to talk about running around Berlin and Potsdam with Daniel and meeting the brother of a U-Boot officer whos dagger I have. How could I replace the enjoyment of meeting a re-enactor dressed like Frederick the Great and having my picture taken with him. This to me is the enjoyment of the hobby. This hobby should be fun. When it becomes a pain in the butt then I am done.
    14. Item number 43 (11 ribbon bar) has created a stir on the forum here and amoung collectors. When I saw the group I was extremely interested in it due to the research possibilities. I then realized that some of the bars go with other groups that have been sold or are offerred for sale by Thies Auctions. I made an attempt to gather a few interested parties together to help acquire the group and reunite some items. My motivation was: 1. reunite some groups 2. acquire some nice bars My intent was NOT to make a profit or take advantage of oneone. If in my efforts I have created a problem for anyone I apologize. I would like to publicly state that due to the storm that is brewing about this group and the possible legal issues I will NOT bid on this group.
    15. Thanks for the help. I find that while the catalogues are really good they are rather cost prohibitive. The Adobe PDFs of the catalogues are almost as good. I hope they will be available soon.
    16. Anyone know when the next Theis Auction is and when the catalogue PDF will be available?
