Hi,
It seems that this officer is Hans Schneider from Artillerie Flieger Abteilung 238
For me the ribbon bar has the following ribbons :
SH3, knight cross of St Henry of Saxe
SA3aX, knight cross 1st class with X of Albert of Saxe
SA3bX, knight cross 2nd class with X of Albert of Saxe
EK2, iron cross 2nd class
PKO4, Order 4th class of the Crown of Prussia
ÖM3K, Austrian Military Merit 3rd class with war decoration
On the tunic he wore two more ribbon, one ribbon for the iron cross 2nd class and for me the ribbon of the knight cross with X of House Order of Hohenzollern.

Hi Chris
this is a picture of the 12th Maschinegewehr Abteilung Saxon in barracks in Dresden for the 12th board of directors 19th Maschinengewehr Abteilung in barracks in Leipzig for the 19th board of directors.
Date of creation of the 2 Saxon M.G.A. on 12 and 19 on 01.10.1903 and dissolution on 01.10.1913 to become only one M.G.A. following a reorganization at the level of the Empire which will take the Nr. 8 for the 12th and 19th C.A. and in barracks in Leipzig, thus more than one M.G.A. for the 2 corps.

Hello
What a lovely bar. The knight cross 2nd class with swords under the cross is very very rare. Do you know how many were awarded ?
Congrats

Hi Chris
What about Major d.R. Otto Wilhelm SIMON.
He was in the Leib Regiment in 1914 as Hauptmann d.R.
Received EH3aX on 20 July 1915.
I think it's your man

Hello,
I have found another name
Major Richard Verstl
He received BMV4bX on 16 November 1914
He received EH3aX on 12 February 1916
He received BMV4aX on 24 April 1917.
He was in KB GS.
A good feeling on this one. The photo has been probably taken between February 1916 and March 1917

Hi Grahanm
In his book, Mr. Demir says that there is no maker known who realize that kind of medal with hallmark 950.
For sure you have a very nice one. Congrats

Hi Chris
The man on the photo is a Major ? He did receive the EH3b or a with X before the grade of Major. The knight cross 2nd class with X is for Leutnant and Oberleutant. The knight cross 1st class with X is for Hauptmann. The commander cross 2nd class with X is for Major.
I have checked the list and there is no officer from the Leib Regiment who receive the cross.
