Few more days examples

Not sure whether the previous example is heat damage or just some sort of discolouration? But this one looks pretty convincing!!

Happened across this Silver Eagle with what appears to be some sort of discolouration. Wondered whether if is one of the heat damaged examples? “The 2001 silver eagle BU PCGS certified coin was the most common coin found at the vault under the world trade center. It took months to retrieve the coins from the sub-basement where the vault with these coins where located. Some special WTC 2001 Coin to look for would be coins found to display heat marks making the coin black in spots. These coins are often referred as "end roll coins" because they where the last or first coin in a role and these coins would have absorbed most of the destructive power of the falling buildings and the fire that burned at the world trade center.” Would like to hear other collectors opinions. Has anyone got a confirmed heat damaged one, we could compare this with?

Johnny Gleave was very well known figure around St Asaph. He always seemed a very cheerful person. He was brought up in one of the pubs in Chester Street, which his mother ran.

John W Pierson From Holywell (possibly also served in Flintshire Constabulary, certainly would have been in Gwynedd Constabulary) Lived in Prestatyn. Nick name "The Kraut" Love France was always going over there. Possibly married a German women? Collar number 933 Traffic Sgt in Prestayn at some point Traffic Sgt Prestatyn 1960's and early 1970's Sgt Rhyl (response) 1973 Sgt Prestatyn (response 17th July 1978). Sgt Rhyl (response) 1980's Went to live in France after he retired. Died in a nursing home in Rhyl (had dementia) was in his 90's. Male officer- he was an odd character. Wouldn't go out on his own or deal with anything and got his hair off if we played snooker without him in refs! So many funny tales of his misdoings! I can't remember them all. He had a girlfriend who was a nurse and he was a Francophile. He was always going over there. Female officer - hauled me back from a Christmas Traffic Do once when I had had a couple of drinks lol as he wanted me to finish typing a DPP file. You know what they were like. It was still on the desk all done after Xmas. I was not amused. Having said all that he used to give me Christmas presents every year. Male officer (re nick name) involved a ship that came into Mostyn Dock, mainly German crew, they wanted a person who could translate, i think John was summoned to help deal with it. All hearsay . "Vot ist your name". Male officer - He was a station Sgt when I first moved to Prestatyn. When he was on day shift he would call you back from Prestatyn town centre beat so you could walk with him to his home just further on than the Ffrith Hotel where he was going for his refs. He said if we were stopped by a member of the public you would deal with it. When we arrived at his front door he would radio the station as say he was now on refs. Female officer - Do you remember when he asked us where Gallt Melyd? How we all kept a straight face I don't know. It was when the town signs had Welsh names as well as the English ones. Male officer - I seem to remember John was a pretty hard task master!! Male officer - JP was a bit of a laughing stock really and not much of a bobby at all. He supervised me for a few years and it was not enjoyable. Poor bloke did not have much idea. Having said that I believe he has dementia and is in a home on the Prom in Rhyl somewhere and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Here is what appears to be another example? Looks to me like a 1887 Jubilee Medal or 1897 Jubilee Medal 1902 Coronation Medal 1887 Jubilee Medal with 1897 clasp? would be interested to hear other people’s views.

Nice to see some more examples of Gulf War sovereigns on the market. Albeit there price is slowly creeping up!!

Would be interested to hear opinions as to how, what I believe to be a Confederate army snake belt buckle, came to be found the concrete foundations of a property built in 1901 in Queensland Australia? It’s been cleaned up and is in remarkably good condition. I believe these buckles were manufactured in England for the Confederate army but also used on Union troops. Did Australia also use them?

Seems to be a pattern forming here... Just recently, the U.S. Mint has sold a small amount of 2017 American Silver Eagles to a few dealers in a blind-bid auction. This inventory was not accounted for in 2017. Instead of "de-trashing" or melting down these coins as normal protocol, the United States Mint has decided to release these coins a whole 3 years after they were minted! This has only been done 1 other time in the 35 year history of the United States Mint! This is being called the 2020 "West Point Hoard" by PCGS. Don't forget, these were released from the Mint 3 years after they were minted, so PCGS has decided to print 2017 and the implied (2020) date on the label. We have a very small amount of these coins certified in perfect grade PR70 with this exclusive "West Point Hoard" Label. In addition to this, each coin has been hand signed by Jim Peed, the longest standing designer at the U.S. Mint.
