    1. I didn't know that he compiled the Seeoffiziere Gesamtliste. I was given this list by another member of the forum. It's my bad then, and I apologize for my mistake. My badge says I'm an active contributor on this forum. I don't care what other people think "active contribution" means. Sandro implied I only ask for help, while I give nothing in return. That's simply not true. Feel free to check my posting history, and you will see plenty of instances where I also helped and answered other people's questions. Regardless what you think, "asking questions" does indeed contribute to this forum. It opens new topics for discussion, and perhaps sparks the interest of other people. If we don't ask questions, then what's the point of having a forum like this? I don't intend to quarrel further regarding this, and I won't be responding to any more of these kind of statements. If you can't help me with the question I originally asked on this thread, then please ignore it and move on, but don't attack me and my contribution on this forum. Otherwise, I will ask a moderator to lock this thread. Regards
    2. Not possible I'm afraid. This is the only known photo of him that I took from the book "Deutschlands Admirale". It doesn't show the full body.
    3. Thank you Demir. Because he's a military person, I think it's more likely to be the Life Saving Medal.
    4. 1 - Order of Osmaniye 2nd Class 2 - Order of the Medjidie 2nd Class 3 - Is this an Ottoman Medal? Does anyone know what it is? Thanks!
    5. I agree, I should have thanked him. If you are reading this, thank you Markus. As you can see from my name, I am more of an expert on Kriegsmarine Admirals. And people here rarely have questions about Kriegsmarine Admirals. Don't you think I also contribute by asking questions? I personally do. Regards
    6. Thanks, you are right I guess. I think you meant "most likely steel" (not bronze). Bronze was awarded for active participation.
    7. Sorry, but his information is from the Seeoffiziere Gesamtliste that I already have. And it doesn't reveal anything about the question I asked.
    8. Thank you Dan! I agree with you. Now regarding the class of the medal. Since he wasn't actively involved in China during the Boxer Rebellion (he was at the time the Executive of the Weapons Department, Imperial Naval Office (11 November 1895-13 July 1904), I think the class would be Stahl (Steel) and not Bronze. Do you agree? The steel medal was awarded to people contributing to the war effort at home and the sailors of the merchant fleet transporting the soldiers to China.
    9. I doubt it's an Ottoman award. The tips of the Breast Star don't look like either the Medjidije or Osmaniye Order Breast Star.
    10. Can anyone help me confirm if Vizeadmiral Leo Jacobson was awarded the Roter Adler-Orden 2. Klasse mit Eichenlaub, Schwertern und Stern mit Schwertern on 01 April 1918? Perhaps someone could check in the Militär-Wochenblatt or Marineverordnungsblatt? Please... Thank you
    11. What is the Breast Star he is wearing above the Breast Star of the Kronen Orden 2. Klasse? Could it be the Großherzoglich Oldenburgischen Haus- und Verdienstorden des Herzogs Peter Friedrich Ludwig? If yes, which class? Perhaps Großkreuz, because he is wearing a sash? Again, nothing in the Rangliste. Thanks
    12. What is the Breast Star he is wearing below the Großherzoglich Oldenburgisches Friedrich August-Kreuz 1. Klasse? There is nothing in the Rangliste. Thanks
    13. Can someone help me with the 2nd to last medal (before the Centenarmedaille). It's clearly one of the 3 colonial medals (based on the shape of the medal): - Kolonial-Denkmünze - China-Denkmünze - Südwestafrika-Denkmünze But which one? My guess is the Kolonial-Denkmünze (based on the ribbon). But I can't confirm it. Perhaps someone else can. He served on board the Panzerfregatte "Friedrich Carl" (May 1880-September 1880) and the Artillerieschulschiff "Mars" (October 1882-May 1883). Perhaps this info can help in determining which colonial medal it is. Thanks
    14. Hello. What are the two Ottoman awards circled red (around the neck and breast star)? What class are they? Are they with or without Swords? Thanks!
    15. Hello. Does anyone have a better quality version of this photo of Char. Konteradmiral Karl von Restorff? Thanks!
    16. For Char. Vizeadmiral Paul Freiherr von Reibnitz I found an abbreviation: BFDA "1870" Can anyone tell me what this is? Thanks
    17. These two pieces of paper come from the book "Deutschlands Admirale 1849-1945, Band 3" by Hans Hildebrand and Ernest Henriot. They don't reveal anything about his decorations.
    18. Hello Sandro, I am not Komtur. Here is a screenshot from the Weitze website about this ribbon bar. Thanks for the comment. I agree this bar doesn't seem to belong to Otto Philipp. The award list comes from the 1914 Rangliste. Philipp was a z.D. officer during WW1 and he is not listed in the 1916 and 1918 Rangliste. Is it possible the Saxony, St Heinrich knight and Friedrichsorden knight 2nd class with swords were awarded during wartime?
    19. I found this ribbon bar attributed to Konteradmiral Otto Philipp on Weitze. Can anyone confirm it is indeed his ribbon bar? Some awards fit, but this looks to be a post-WW1 bar. Here are my guesses: - Eisernes Kreuz (1914) 2. Klasse - Königlich Preußischer Roter Adler-Orden 4. Klasse mit der Krone (the Crown is missing) - ??? - ??? - ??? - China-Denkmünze in Bronze - Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer (the Swords are missing) - Königlich Preußische Kaiser Wilhelm-Centenarmedaille 1897 Could the 3rd ribbon be the Prussian Order of the Crown 2nd Class with Swords? He had the Order of the Crown 2nd Class without Swords before WW1 (confirmed by the Rangliste). Here is his list of awards I have from the Rangliste and Excel Gesamtliste: -Königlich Preußischer Roter Adler-Orden 2. Klasse mit Eichenlaub und Schwertern (03. 05. 1917) -Königlich Preußischer Kronen-Orden 2. Klasse (21. 01. 1912) -Eisernes Kreuz (1914) 1. Klasse -Eisernes Kreuz (1914) 2. Klasse -Königlich Preußische Kaiser Wilhelm-Centenarmedaille 1897 -China-Denkmünze in Bronze mit Spange „Taku“ -Königlich Preußischer Roter Adler-Orden 3. Klasse mit der Schleife -Königlich Preußischer Roter Adler-Orden 4. Klasse mit der Krone -Königlich Preußischer Kronen-Orden 4. Klasse -Königlich Preußisches Dienstauszeichnungskreuz -Kommandeurkreuz 2. Klasse des Königlich Dänischen Dannebrog-Ordens -Kommandeurkreuz des Königlich Griechischen Erlöserordens -Kommandeur des Königlich Großbritannischen Victoria-Ordens -Kommandeurkreuz des Königlich Niederländischen Ordens von Oranien-Nassau -k.u.k. Österreichischer Orden der Eisernen Krone 2. Klasse -Kaiserlich Russischer St. Annenorden 2. Klasse -Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer Thanks!
    20. The KO2x could be hidden because of the angle he is facing. See how on the left photo his KO2x is partly hidden by his uniform. If you don't think it's Natzmer on the right photo, just compare the ears. They are identical.
    21. I have two photos of Natzmer, one from the book "Deutschlands Admirale" and the other one is from the ceremony of the opening of the Naval Memorial in Laboe on 30 May 1936. I think there is no doubt they are the same person? Anyway, I need help in identifying the medals on his medal bar. This would help me confirm the ID of him as Natzmer, and also match his known awards from the Rangliste and the seeoffiziere Gesamtliste. His list of awards I have: -Königlich Preußischer Kronen-Orden 2. Klasse mit Schwertern am Zweimal Schwarz- und Dreimal Weiß-Gestreiften Bande (22. 01. 1918) -Eisernes Kreuz (1914) 1. Klasse -Eisernes Kreuz (1914) 2. Klasse -Königlich Preußische Kaiser Wilhelm-Centenarmedaille 1897 -China-Denkmünze in Bronze mit Spange „Taku“ -Königlich Preußischer Roter Adler-Orden 3. Klasse mit der Schleife -Königlich Preußischer Roter Adler-Orden 4. Klasse -Königlich Preußischer Kronen-Orden 3. Klasse mit Schwertern am Ringe -Königlich Preußischer Kronen-Orden 4. Klasse mit Schwertern -Königlich Preußischer Kronen-Orden 4. Klasse -Königlich Preußisches Dienstauszeichnungskreuz -Königlich Preußische Rettungsmedaille am Bande -Ehrenkreuz 2. Klasse des Fürstlichen Hausordens von Hohenzollern -Königlich Bayerischer Militärverdienstorden 4. Klasse mit der Krone -Ritterkreuz des Königlich Belgischen Leopoldsordens mit Schwertern -Ritterkreuz des Königlich Dänischen Dannebrog-Ordens -Kaiserlich Russischer St. Annenorden 3. Klasse -Kaiserlich Türkischer Osmanje-Orden 4. Klasse -Ehren-und Erinnerungskreuz des Marinekorps Flandern -Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer Some notes: - Oddly, the 1914 Rangliste lists both the KO4x and the KO4. Is that a mistake, or is it possible that the swords weren't added to his KO4 and instead he received a brand new medal? - The 1914 Rangliste lists "BL4" for him. This would be the Belgian Order of Leopold, Knight's Cross. In the Rangliste it says that officers received this order only with Swords. Is this correct? Even foreigners? - I have no proof for the Flanders Cross, since it was a non-official award. But I'm pretty sure he received it, because he was the Commander of the I. Naval-Brigade of the Naval Corps in Flanders in 1918. The medal bar: - Eisernes Kreuz (1914) 2. Klasse - Ehrenkreuz 2. Klasse des Fürstlichen Hausordens von Hohenzollern ??? - Königlich Preußische Rettungsmedaille am Bande ??? - Königlich Preußischer Kronen-Orden 4. Klasse mit Schwertern ??? - Königlich Preußischer Roter Adler-Orden 3. Klasse mit der Schleife - Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer - Königlich Preußisches Dienstauszeichnungskreuz - China-Denkmünze in Bronze ??? - Königlich Preußische Kaiser Wilhelm-Centenarmedaille 1897 It's difficult to see if there are two or three medals after the EKII and before the RAO3S. Also, there seems to be a round medal between the DA and the Centenarmedaille. The ribbon fits with the China-Denkmünze I think. Also, I can't see the BMV4mKr mounted on his medal bar. It would help if anyone could tell me which medals would Natzmer wear on his medal bar, and in which order... Thanks!
    22. I already posted this in the "Turkey" section asking for help in regards to his Turkish awards. Now I need help with the 2nd and 3rd ribbons that are surely German. His list of awards I have: -Königlich Preußischer Kronen-Orden 1. Klasse mit Schwertern (16. 10. 1917) -Königlich Preußischer Roter Adler-Orden 2. Klasse -Eisernes Kreuz (1914) 2. Klasse -Königlich Preußische Kaiser Wilhelm-Centenarmedaille 1897 -Königlich Preußischer Roter Adler-Orden 3. Klasse mit Schleife und mit der Krone -Königlich Preußischer Roter Adler-Orden 4. Klasse -Königlich Preußischer Kronen-Orden 3. Klasse -Königlich Preußisches Dienstauszeichnungskreuz -Kommandeurkreuz des Königlich Italienischen Ordens vom Heiligen Mauritius- und Lazarus -Königlich Spanischer Orden für Verdienste zur See 3.
