    1. This is not my area but these are very nice and I thought they should be posted. They are not mine and these are the only photos I have. I am a little unsteady it seems so the pictures are a little blurry.
    2. Well, now it gets scary. I went back and checked my files and there were some other items purchased with the group that I had forgotten! The comment about remounting and these two packeted medals is dead on. I also bought three lengths of ribbon that are here some where. I guess I will have to shuffle some stuff around to reunite the group as best as I can. I never expected all of this. I never connected all of these until Rick put all of the pieces together for me! Thanks Rick! The Prussian war effort cross was there but I left it as it is common. :banger:
    3. There was also a SWB and two cards in the group. Could this be the name? There was a common three place WW1 era bar in the group but I was too poor to get it also.
    4. The old bar was in a small wooden case with this on the back. It looks like ball point pen to me.
    5. Wow, I never considered that this could be traceable! Here are some other items that came out of the same house. Maybe a name? First the other bar:
    6. I bought this bar in December of last year and it was missing the second medal. Easy enough to replace as several dealers have them available but for some reason I just let this sit for a while. While on vacation in December I was looking at the other items the Ebay seller that sold me the bar had sold and I saw that the medal was sold as a single weeks before the bar! No way to predict this and save the set and I was a little pained by this. A few weeks ago I was talking to an old collecting friend and we were going over the "what's new" lists. I mentioned this bar and he informed me that I had outbid him on it. He mentioned that --- he had the single medal from this buyer!!!! So my old Austrian documents that I bought in Speyer went to his house and the medal...
    7. For Darrell - Army Meritorious Civilian Service Medal This is the one we PM'd about - thanks for the help!
    8. Micha, As I remember my ribbon has a fragile silk feeling to it. I try not to mess with it. The larger ribbon seems correct. I will swear that I see a number 3 on the first picture of your medal. A possible casting mold mark or my eyes getting bad? I see no evidence of this on mine. Chet
    9. Gentlemen, I am planning on purchasing this cross if it is original. I have not seen enough of these to be 100% sure on my own and I am looking for a second opinion. The pin is a little longer than I am used to and the finishing of the cross on the left side of the upper arm is a little off. The color seems good. I have posted the sellers pictures with his permission to start a discussion. Thank you, Chet
    10. Mark, From the pictures I would say a little bird belongs in the case and not the medal you show. If both are original they are nice pieces but IMO they do not go together. I think the case is for the Adler der Inhaber from Hohenzollern. I can not speak to the originality of the pieces so others might help there. CRBeery
    11. Vince, That is the bar you speak of. I have been patiently waiting for it for about two years. I had sent several emails where she was not ready to sell. Finally before Christmas she said it was time for it to find a new home. If I ever sell it I will ask you first. Chet
    12. Chris, I can not find a mark but my eyes are getting bad. Here is a slightly better picture of it. I bought this bar just before Christmas as a "little" gift for me.
    13. I figured you guys would catch on. I was waiting for the "That REO does not look like the ones in my collection." At any rate, the mini clasps are the first I have found.
    14. That is perfect. The case is probably the closest I will ever come. Thanks to you and you friend.
