Very Attractive. I've been meaning to buy one for years.

Nope. It is an exceptionally odd trio of awards from Rolls which are complete-- and done. Wouldn't have been able to identify this in '06.
WONDERFUL

I am going with Rick's attribution. I'm not sure I follow all the subtleties of the logic but he seems pretty sure of it and that's good enough for me. Unfortunately the most you will probbaly have if you try and sell it is a very strong circumstantial argument in favour of this being Kleist's bar unless you can find some other provenance.
But at least you and a few others will know.
You could write to the German Resistance Memorial in Berlin (http://www.gdw-berlin.de/service/service-e.php) and ask if they have a photo of Kleist showing his medal bar. If anyone has one they will. Explain your situation and ask politely for a scanned copy of anything they have. I have found them to be very helpful and responsive in the past.

I trust Rick's ID on this bar. I just hope no other officer had the same combo...

I have seen it in the 97 or 98 MYB. I think typically non british recipients are always considered less valuable than British awardees.

Rick, do you collect British medals along too?
These are extraordinary awards....

Thanks, I saw that one last night but only a few photos are nice and clear. It's hard to see detail for sure.
I guess not many photos survived...

Not when you get to be my age. I am much closer to 1914 than 2010 now and feeling dinosaur-ish.

Okay, I think I have the medals placed correctly.

No-- WHEN it comes out-- 2010? Until then
we watch and wait to see if the medal bar shows up. You got the first set of awards rolls books, and our Faithful Customers and Fellow Gnomes will get first dibs (and plenty of notice) on the much reduced numbers which will ever be available of the NEXT batch.
wartime bar. Just perfect!!!!
2010... thats far away

What book from Daniel? Is it ready, did I miss it! WtH!!!

Oooooh yes. It was good for me, too.
Is it in your paws now? Not "out there" somewhere?
Show us the back.....
Yes, me own it now and am very happy, happy. I just really like it for some reason.
I'll go take reverse phot now. I also need to take an updated phot of my Bulgarian Colonel with all his orders...

Here's a very nice ribbon bar.
Now, I must ask everyone... is this for an NCO or a Feldwebel-leutnant?
