Here mine. I had the bio of the man but can't find it. Does anyone have a book listing the men who were awarded this medal?

Hi, there are two of the most common italian medal, awarded in million pieces. But have a great significate for who take them at the time.
There are many books (only in italian, i know) that speaks about official italian medal. If you have some question I'll try to explain in my poor english
IP
I'm interested in seeing the many WW1 Italian medals and orders. I have a very nice Bravey Medal in Silver named. I'll find my photos to post for you.

Husaren-Regiment K?nig Humbert von Italien (1. Kurhessisches) Nr. 13, Diedenhofen.
Is Husaren Regt 13 noted on the photo? I thought those wearing this uniform were member of Landwehr cavalry regiments. I see I have much to learn in this area.

Nice field grade career officer's bar.
Thanks Rick
Too bad Austrian bars can't be ID'd. Well, as far as I know...

But what about those devices...
First one is Malta cross for a ribbon bar. How common it is?
And the crown on the black ribbon???? What award it could be?
Those would be a lot more interesting if the rest of the bars were exposed/

Any identification on it ? Name, service number etc?
Reason I ask is that he has the DFM ribbon up and if his name is known the citation for his award is available on-line.
The RCAF had one Pathfinder Squadron, No. 405. However, as a member of the RCAF he could have served on an RAF Pathfinder Squadron.
Cheers, Ken
I'll have to dig it out and look. I haven't collected or looked at my RAF/RCAF items in years.

Not common at all, Charles! there were only 563 SMKs to Saxon officers, most with some affiliation to IR 133 somehow.
I've run through the letters A through G and the short list of suspects on your last bar is:
Bla?l, Dr Kuno-- Asssistenzarzt RIR 13
Bodsch, Kurt-- Lt dL GrenResRgt 100
Brandenstein, Wilhelm-- Lt dL RIR 133
Breyer, Fritz-- Lt IR 133
Buchner, Hans--Lt dR GrenResRgt 100
Conrad, Kurt-- Lt IR 133
Cramer von Clausbruch, Henning-- Lt GrenRes Rgt 100
D?nitz, Rudimann-- Lt dR RIR 133
von Falkenhausen, Hans-Joachim-- Lt GR 100
Fischer, Hans-- Oberlt dR RIR 133
Garbe, Wilhelm-- Lt dR RIR 133
so 11 for 7 letters-- probably about 35 or so possible "suspects" for that bar.
Oh really! Well then, I wonder if we'll ever be able to narrow it down to one man?

Are most of these references being used by the members out of print? I find it very hard to find most of the materials listed. I have the 251 divisions...

Chris,
You need the index to "251 Divisions".
Chip
IS THERE AN INDEX?

Nothing especially fancy, but certainly possessing of that proverbial "been there" look.

First question: as I understand it - no.
Second question: they are different in size (25 mm vs. 40 mm)
Pictures of the German Kriegerverdientsmedaille 1st class gold (silver gild) and 1st class in silver (for the 2nd class in gold and silver see Wild Cards pic):
I've never seen nor heard of these medals. Terrific subject and very educational.

true, very true.
well, it has six or seven different types of bullion wire on it-- never know when a nice period pic will pop up (for any one of the items shown on this thread), so back into storage it goes!
Instead of storage send it to me. I'll look at it every weekend.

Well, to me it looks like the middle is a lighter shade than the outer edges of the ribbon. So I think it's black outer with white stripes and a red central stripe. WW2 in my opinion but I'm not the best at shades of gray and black.just found this photo on ebay.de......................................
I am not the best in ww2 militaria.................but please correct me if I should be wrong.....................among his Wehrmacht awards this guy is wearing in his button hole a....................................
WW1 iron cross !!!!
or the ribbon for it.......... or I don`t know what............ maybe I am only colourblind..................... but..............yesterday everything was ok with my eyes

Gold cut out, non magnetic with unusual diagonal pin.
That's and interesting version.

Also about the location, where the unit was:
So, I try to find information about this unit and especially about the major. If someone have something or photo, please let me know!
I can't help you with information but I can offer an opinion. Nice ribbon bar with uncommon awards.

Very attractive. I wish I could find a put-together type near me. From the photos it looks to be a superb cabinet for display.
BTW, nice fliegerbluse

Great tunic ccj!
Thanks for sharing.
You bet, I love Romanian militaria but it's not easy to find.

Great set of orders. Would you like to display a few on my Romanian tunic?

It ain't perfect and it's not what I was searching for but it's a Romanian WW2 officer's tunic. I added the Michael the Brave.
Like a total DA I passed on a perfect Major of Mt Troop with cap about 10 years ago because of a couple small month nips. What was I thinking.
Anyway, this is a fair example, as Romanian tunics so, for a WW2 tunic.

I didn't notice the sweat shield until Chip mentioned it. I can't remember seeing one in an Imperial Cap...

And the tabs:
Communist era. Similar collar tabs but the collar was reddish maroon and gilt. The boards are different.
