    1. Great idea Charles. But we need to see the Rick ribbon bars'article. With this one we can easily know which one if good or which one is a fake. But the problem is the new creators of the ribbon bar are able to read such article and then create new fake which will be so similar to real that it will be impossible to know which is good or not.

      Christophe

      Yeah,

Rick could be the controller. He could either post the bar or he could remove bars deemed bad...

    2. :love::love::love::love:

Yup, two different classes so both could be worn at the same time, but WHICH classes? Probably a BMVK2X and aBMVK3X(mKr?).

Somewhere out there is a MEDAL bar.

This is the first time I've seen war merit and frontline ribbons on the same bar(s). Wish that was mine!

A very nice bar. I too wish it were mine. I'm amazed how you guys come across this stuff. I must be so far out of the loop... the click... the circle...

    3. Quite happy with this one. My first China service ribbon bar. I'm assuming the plain blue ribbon in first place is a Prussian Crown order, given the other Prussian decorations. At first glance, this bar looks like it might have belonged to a medical officer, but what then of the combattant Anhalt in 4th place? Anyone have any thoughts or observations on this one?

This is a very interesting ribbon bar. I din't remember, did Anhalt have a non combattant ribbon?

    4. EXTREMELY difficult to say from such small fuzzy scans. The "normal" ribboned Schaumburg cross and what appears to be the Lippe-Detmold War Cross for Heroic Deeds between his EK1 and Wound Badge.

NOT a pinback Schaumburg-Lippe Cross for Loyal Service in War (for royals ONLY).

I'm startin' to think the Lippe Cross for Loyal Service in War pinback was for Royalty only! I'll do some research to let ya know...

    5. Thank you ccj.

David M - I do not think that, at least as far as German decorations are concerned, minis have ever had any ?legal? status.

You are correct in saying that they go back to the Napoleonic era; and, I might add, that at that time they were in style in Russia and France as well.

As I have mentioned in other threads, as near as I can determine, Imperial German minis were strictly private purchase items; therefore ?legitimate? pieces came from any number of sources, which explains the range of design and quality which is often encountered - one could do quite a study on the 1870 EKII minis.

      Gentlemen,

Since the subject of Kleindekorationen has been touched upon, I thought that another example, in this case a Kleindekoration for the Red Eagle Order 1st class, might be appropriate for presentation.

      Best wishes,

      Wild Card

I have never seen one before. I'd love to someday find one to add to my collection.
