    1. South German mostly. There was a small but noticeable East Prussian and occasional naval fashion for these, but overwhelming most common for Baden, Bavaria, and W?rttemberg. After the Anschluss, some Austrians also liked it. Sometimes found in the Thuringian Duchies and odd ones as far east as Saxony.

I'd like the see a Saxon or Thuringian bar in the style. So far I haven't seen one.

    2. Very nice cross. See page 218 from The Iron Time.

Is "The Iron Time" worth the money? I don't have a copy and haven't had a chance to view the book.

BTW, super EK... how many do you have now? I saw your display in another thread and it looks as though you could use a few more.

I need to find a few more examples for my tunics... real, but simple pin back types. In over 20+ years of collecting I have never convinced myself to buy a screwback. I have no idea why as I love the EKI. I only have around 10 now for display and tunics. I sold many because I thought I had too many. What the H*** was I thinking! :speechless:

    3. Oddly enough, there WEREN'T regulations for many of the German states (so much for "Ordnung!") but Prussuia's rules were extensive and stable over time.

Prussia placed the Lifesaving Medal behind all Prussian war awards and before all peacetime awards. That remained in effect basically from 1833 to 1933.

A Prussian with Prussian precedence for his ?:

But a Prussian Baron detached to Mecklenburg-Strelitz as regimental commander there and wearing his awards, even ? in Mecklenburg precedence:

Rick, to whom does the long BAR BELONG?
