Oh, I forgot... it looks like the Kaiser's tunic. Can I have it?

Absolutely wonderful. That's the exact tunic I've been searching for for some time now.
I love field grey generals tunics.

South German mostly. There was a small but noticeable East Prussian and occasional naval fashion for these, but overwhelming most common for Baden, Bavaria, and W?rttemberg. After the Anschluss, some Austrians also liked it. Sometimes found in the Thuringian Duchies and odd ones as far east as Saxony.
I'd like the see a Saxon or Thuringian bar in the style. So far I haven't seen one.

Thanks Chris. I'm going to keep my eye out for other L marked 1914 EK2's, but I doubt I'll see too many.
Wow, it looks new in the photo.

Very nice cross. See page 218 from The Iron Time.
Is "The Iron Time" worth the money? I don't have a copy and haven't had a chance to view the book.
BTW, super EK... how many do you have now? I saw your display in another thread and it looks as though you could use a few more.
I need to find a few more examples for my tunics... real, but simple pin back types. In over 20+ years of collecting I have never convinced myself to buy a screwback. I have no idea why as I love the EKI. I only have around 10 now for display and tunics. I sold many because I thought I had too many. What the H*** was I thinking!

I've been watching, waiting for updates.
This is very exciting, I can't imagine how much fun you are having Mark.

Very attractive Attila.
Do you have the headgear to accompany it?

I see.
That's understandable.

Nice looking bar. I'm sure I'm a outsider on this as I have no idea what's going on.

Well the price won't be low when the hammer falls.
Ostensibly a very nice, rare group.

Now that is a great historical group. I CB and Army of India medal to a general is a rare find.
Thanks for sharing and if you have others please share. I do traded off SS and 3th Reich for Victorian British and also Imperial German items.

This is most beautiful. Please, put my name on it in case something happens to you. Not that I wish for bad to happen... no, I just want to make sure it's safe and that most importantly, I get it.

Oddly enough, there WEREN'T regulations for many of the German states (so much for "Ordnung!") but Prussuia's rules were extensive and stable over time.
Prussia placed the Lifesaving Medal behind all Prussian war awards and before all peacetime awards. That remained in effect basically from 1833 to 1933.
A Prussian with Prussian precedence for his ?:
But a Prussian Baron detached to Mecklenburg-Strelitz as regimental commander there and wearing his awards, even ? in Mecklenburg precedence:
Rick, to whom does the long BAR BELONG?

Nice Baden bar. I've been searching for about 10 years for a nice Baden pre 1919 ribbon bar for my 22 Dragoon O/Lt. I have a two place but it needs a 4-6 place bar
Nice NCO bar... Milit?r-Karl Friedrich-Verdienstmedaille on a ribbon bar are uncommon.

No,I don't think so-have a look at the Mcklemburg FF cross with the same attachment system....it wouldn't make sense to try to fix it at a brest armour!
Micha
Do you have an image of the Mecklinburg FF? I'll try a search in case it's posted on the forum and I am start enough to find it...

Wouldn't that EKI be configured to mount on a Courassier breast plate.

Holy Cow!!
Can you show more images of the awards?

Two very interesting sites. I'm glad I glimpsed at this thread.
I couldn't say if the DFC is real from the image but if so it's a rare find.

Hi Charles,
Before the war Oberst von Borries wore the following medals :
RAO3 with bow
RAO4 with crown
KO3
DA 25
Cm
BZ2b
BMV4 with crown
RSt2
Christophe
Christophe,
More than one peacetime RAO or KO can be worn on the ribbon bar at the same time? I always thought two RAOs or KOs could be worn only if one was with swords and one was without.

What are the awards on Generalmajor Rudolf von Borries ribbon bar?
I never see nice photos such as these for sale. I wouldn't mind having a few to mount on the walls of my collection room.

What's his rank? I can't make it out...
I tell ya, that would be a nice bar to own.

Rick,
What are the odds of finding the owner's Regiment? I doubt a name can be married to the bar but the unit would be a nice bit to learn.
