Since Pat got burnt on that shield,I think it is only fair that other members speak up and tell what they got burnt on in the past Dont be shy My last one was the l54 ek.I am a little pissed at myself because at that time I was on the net and belonged to a couple of forums. don
So....Your saying badge is stamped tombak, not Brass? I don't like the picture as it makes the badge look copper looking...Here is a shot of early brass badge.
About Wound badges Dan...For now try and stay to the well know makers in your search for a gold and silvers. For example my hunt list would be the 30s,65s and 107s and the 100.Try and keep away from the rare and the oddballs for now. Please also ask opinions as we have some members here that know there stuff.Like darrell and ronny .Good luck Ps...That navy looks real good. don
Thanks for sharing pictures of your wound badge collection.I am also a collector with about 30 in my collection and love to see others.Right now wound badges are hold for me as I am into medal bars rirgt now.I do still study them. Now to the point....I hate to tell you this but the gold L14 IS A WELL known fake.Anyways you still have a nice collection. That naval is a nice one:beer: don
Not a tunic, but a dagger would be nice.I will just stick to my low end medals.I can't sit still long enough to save up $1000 or $2000 dollars for the high end stuff. don
Thanks Gordon for the info on your future project. I for one will be looking forward to it. I have noticed in the last couple of years that the wound badge area in our hobby has taken off. This might be due to the rising prices in our hobby. In my opinion the EK area is number one but I think the wound badge will catch up. Many wound badge collectors Collect and study the full scope of the badge and not just one time period. A full scope Reference book would be great. Sorry for getting a bit of the topic from your new book. don
Sauce Where thr hell you been?No word from you in the forums in a while.I trust all is well at your end of the pond?Yes....the Sauce man does have some nice stuff don
