Preface: For the first time, I published a new article in this section. I mainly collected the order and medals of Germany and Austro-Hungarian Empire. These British medals were collected unintentionally and not intentionally. The following is a group photo of my British medal →
A few days ago, I received the bronze medal of Queen Victoria's 50-year accession to the throne. Does anyone tell me whether the box is original? And the number of women?
In fact, I want to collect the version for men, but I received two bows for women (received several times), although the number of them was less. PS If I break the bow and change it into a man's appearance, is that history?

Hi, my friend, Merry Christmas! I would like to ask you if the Carl 1 level bravery medal can be awarded to Germans? I have only seen the example of level 2 or copper in German medals @Christian1962

Eh.. Gentlemen, in fact, I mainly want to know whether the medal of 40 years of service in Bavaria Fire Service can be worn alone?

Collectors, I recently browsed a group of bars with 40 year service medals of Bavarian firefighters, but I thought it was a little strange. Generally speaking, the fire medals I saw appeared together with 25 and 40, or the combination of Bavarian Kingdom Service Medals and 25 year Service Medals. This is the first time I saw a single medal. Does this medal meet the "standard"? Besides, what's the last medal? It seems to be related to agriculture. Please give your opinion! thank you

Just a small remark:
Note that those "restrikes" and "copies" are legit medals of that order. In Belgium only the design is described in the Law or Royal Decree. Everybody can fabricate them as long as they follow the given design and they are considered official. You can buy and sell the freely but only wear them when you are awarded with them (and received the certificate for it).
The Royal Order of the Lion (and the Order of the African Star as well) is still an active order, althoug dorment since 1960s. It has never been abolished by Law or Royal Decree.
So this medals are real pieces of the Royal order of the Lion, not just the ones that we collectors like to buy.
In Belgium it is usually so that the recipient has to buy their own decoration. Only the certificate is awarded for free by the government. So there are many manufacturers who provide official decorations: P. De Greef, Mauquoy, Fibru, ...
What might be considered restrikes or copies are modern fabrications with only the french text. Since 1951 they must be bilingual (french-dutch). With only the dutch text (if exist) are considered unofficial.
I like the order of Belgian royal lions! It is very beautiful, but the breast star rarely appears.. At the same time, I think its acquisition standard is similar to the Leopold II order? Or crown order? I have seen in the old photos that the Chinese have obtained the royal lion order

Sorry for what I wanted to say, but I replied incorrectly.

Hi Chuck,
It was against statutes to mount two Hindys on the same bar. This could have been either a parent who lost a son or a surviving brother.
I really like the various bars you displayed

Dear collectors, I recently purchased a medal for the 25th anniversary of the Austro-Hungarian firefighting, but I can find very little information, and I can't find any relevant discussions in the forum. So far I can only find a picture of the medal wearing it, does anyone have pictures of other winners? Also, are firefighters in the Austro-Hungarian Empire civil servants?
The actual winner is an old grandpa who doesn't look too happy

Gentlemen, I bought this combo last year on a second-hand trade site in China. During the Prussian-French War. oh! It looks in great condition! Like it was just made. The seller did not understand, he said it was from Prussia, but I knew it was from the Grand Duchy of Hesse.
Just does anyone know what is written on the little piece of paper? I seem to ask a friend on the forum, but again I forgot. . . I waited about half a year for it to be delivered to me!The securing ribbon was supposed to be intact, but apparently it broke during shipping. . .
The civil medal cross, issued to women, should be relatively rare.
thanks for watching!0 -

Also, I know one line of letters is his signature, so what does the other line mean?

Hello,
It looks like a German made medal. Please check the thickness. If it is more than 2 mm. then it is German made.
German made ones are thicker than the Turkish ones.
Also, you can see from the attached photo that the Turkish ones have a ring for the original suspension, and the German one's suspension were welded to the medal.Reverse: "The Medal of Merit, for those who showed loyalty and bravery" is written in raised letters. At the bottom, the Hijri year 1308 (1891) is written in a cartouche.
Best wishes
Demir
yes sir demir, the turkish made medals with perforations directly on the medals seriously spoils the aesthetics of the medals, I think it's because of their technology? My medals are three millimeters thick

Hello fellow collectors! I bought a Liyakat medal from the Ottoman Empire a few years ago, and today I found it had an imprint "925" on the ring, is it made in Germany? Its top doesn't look like other Liyakat. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
PS: Also, can anyone tell me what the Islamic text on the back means?

I agree this company is charging pretty high prices, sometimes probably too high!
Lovely group though, probably to a Landtag member - and not to a "Reichsrat".
Also, I want to ask you another question. Regarding the "War Welfare Medal" of the Grand Duchy of Hesse, I found through the pictures that sometimes its ribbon color is red, sometimes it is pink, so which color is the correct color? I recently purchased one
The above two pictures are quoted from the collections of other members of the forum

游击军百户="Guerrilla" was an ancient military official in China, about the same as the current battalion commander, and "hundred households" was equivalent to the commander of a hundred men
延祐=Yanyou "is the year name used during the reign of Emperor Renzong of the Yuan Dynasty in China, equivalent to 1314-1320. The time was very short. The fourth year of Yanyou is 1317
I stumbled upon this video during my search and was wondering if you could open it. I hope it will be helpful to you. PS Some of your pictures are opposite..
