    1. POLICE GENERAL CORPS PLATE 1942 . Plaque of the extinct general police force period 1942 - 1954, Franco period. Observe the eagle of San Juan, and read the legends "A great free" and "General Directorate of Security". Measure: 5 x 4 cms. High quality metal. Flat without safety pin. This is the 1942 version dating mine from between 1939-1942.
    2. According to a Spanish website that sells replica badges the oval one with the St. Johns Eagle is: Medida: 6 x 4,20 cms. aprox. Sin imperdible. Placa del Cuerpo de Investigación periodo 1938-1942. Franco reorganizó este organismo y le incorporó el águila de San Juan. Posteriormente, le daría el nombre de Cuerpo General de Policía a partir del 1942. Which, according to google translate, means: 1938 SPANISH SECURITY AND INVESTIGATION BADGE Measure: 6 x 4.20 cms. approx. Without safety pin. Plate of the Investigation Corps period 1938-1942. Franco reorganized this body and incorporated the San Juan Eagle. Later, he would give it the name of the General Police Corps as of 1942 They sell reproductions for 36.00 euros each or $ 42.79 USD.
    3. Greetings! I hope you all survived the last year and 4 months. Question: are these Franco era badges, time period, and does anyone have pictures of them being worn? I'm pretty sure the Artillery buckle is Alphonso XIII period. Thank you.
    4. This badge is marked FIRMIN LONDON on the back in raised letters. I will try to post a good picture of the marking when I get home later.
    5. I am currently being able to ID a lot of these patches and badges so no replys are needed......(crickets chirping) replies I would like any input on the KHARTOUM elephants head cap badge if known. It looks to be cast brass and file finished. Thank you.
    6. Just picked these up off of eBay. Could use some help with ID and authentification. Thank you all in advance.
    7. Thank you all for your replies. I have decided to leave them be and display them along with the rest of my Spanish Civil War items. Thanks again.
    8. Just picked this up. No clue where this badge is from. The tag made me think U.K. Any ideas? Thank you all in advance.
    9. I have 2 of the berets but I am missing the stars. Any idea where I can get them? Was there any other insignia they may have worn on the beret? Thank you in advance.
    10. I just acquired these wings along with 2 other WW 2 era items from the same family. I was wondering if they are WW 2 era also? And should I clean them or leave the "patina" (read crud). What color should they be? The crown looks like it is a separate piece but is secure. Thank you in advance
    11. All I could find was Spanish site selling one and calling it a Socialist Militia badge. Spanish Civil war era. 380 euros.
    12. Well, that settled that. Thank you very much for your help. Nice lighter, too..
    13. At the top center of the crest is a 5 pointed stat with rays projecting out. At the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions there appears to be a small crown. Along the bottom there is K, a stemmed rose, and a J. On the left pillar are the letters "plus" and on the right pillar the letters "ultra" I found a picture of basically the same crest on line unidentified also. Except mine has the crown above the eagles heads.
    14. Thank you for your reply. It has K J on the front in the shield. The only thing I could think of was Kingdom Jugoslavia
    15. Here is another mystery (to me) beret badge. It measures 2" by 2" and apperars to be brass. It is unmarked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    16. Picked this up in a large group of assorted pins and badges. Was able to determine it was Kingdom or Jugoslavia but that was it. it measures about 1 1/4" by 1 3/8" It is non magnetic. Does anyone know the time period it was used and where it would have been worn and by whom? Thank you very much in advance.
