    3. Yes, Eric, there is an stamp on the underside of the pin, close to the hinge. I am unable to make it out even under 30X magnification. Any idea what it could be?

    7. I think it is a "V" as well, not an "A" after looking at it with a 30X magnifier. . .
    8. The "V" on the reverse of the pin. . . The "800" stamp. . .
    9. The 800 is stamped on the reverse of the cross, under the pin. It can not be seen in this scan. . .
    10. This just arrived, an 800 "V" stamped Iron Cross, 1st Class, 1914. The "V" is stamped on the reverse of the pin. . .
