    1. Yes.....that happened a lot here.Especially with 2rd Reich stuff. Documents, pictures ect....But it's really bad luck when ultra rare things like this Ek are getting damaged or destroyed. But no way to repair it(and I wouldn't try it).The result would have been always a "put together".So it will stay here until I can't get an upgrade.
    2. I know it from the seller....waste sorting! He found it together with a screwback silver WB(also K.M.) marked.Someone has simply thrown them away!!
    3. It's the really hard to get "stamped" maker mark variation.....of course I will keep it! Micha
    4. And the problem...... :banger: :banger:
    5. That's why I've bought it....but as longer as I'm looking at it I think the pin is a replacement. Micha
    6. I bought this one a while ago-first I thought it was a new pin variation but now it looks for me like a replacement. What do you think? Micha
    7. Nice "ball crown" K.A.G. have you also got the "wide crown" variation? Unfortunately my example is in very oor condition. Micha
    8. A perfect "square"! Full score. Micha
    9. The damage could have also be done from waste sorting! That happened to one of my KMST crosses! And-have you noticed the way of marking? Not the "common" relief marking",the letters are punched in! Bloody hard to find(I'm still searching for one of these...).Well,sometimes you loose and sometimes the others are winning Micha
    10. That's a nice one(and a rare bird, too).here's mine-not in best condition but as long I can't find a better one it stays here in my collection. It has also a marking at the backside of the pin.Just a simple "C" or a half circle. The pin is stamped with "800". I've got also an Oldenbrg FA 1st class in my collection with a similar attachment system(but the 2 sidehooks are not horizontal).Maybe they are later added,it#s really hard to tell. Micha
    11. Reverse-Please notice-the first one(Deumer" is a 3 piece construction,slim and fat 9 are one piece constructions!
    12. The 3 major types of unmagnetic 1914 EK2s Micha
    13. From a small local show today......nearly perfect, the gods of iron crosses collecting have been with me! Micha
    14. No way,Steve....look at the date! Micha
    15. I'm a bit busy at the moment-sorry! OK-this one is interesting. The core is a "Deumer" one,but I've never seen this kind of pin at one of these crosses. a replacement/repair A use of leftover stocks? Anything is possible! I like it.... Micha
    16. First-my statement "CD 800" is obviously wrong! It's the "800" series of the CD family! To the "souvenier-this Ek is a private purchased one!the case is a patriotic one. I think that everyone could have bought this patriotic cases at the jeweler shops-together with this iron cross.I don't know how the rules for these purchases has been those days, but I think that you had to bring your Soldbuch or something like that to show that you've been awarded with the medal you wanted to buy........pure speculation by me! Micha
    17. Steve-800v in a complete line at the backplate ? Or an "800" marked Ek with a "v" or a "y" under the pin? And my list includes just the maker marks, not the different kind of stampings or Cores/frames/pins.Otherwise it would have been a bit longer micha
    18. Classical "slim 9" in really nice condition-there's also a screwback and a 2nd class with this core design. Micha
    19. So,I've checked all my "suspects".....greg,you are right-a 100% match to all my Godets! Flat one,fangs....the frame is identical-no match to all my Meybauer frames! What ever that means.... Micha
    20. A reverence book should have all the variations......Just to talk about the 1st class it would be thick as the Frankfurt telephone book! And my problem is-I want to have them all! Ask me again when I've finished my collection Micha
