    1. Very nice collection.... and messy I love your ribbon bars!!!!!!
    2. Thank you Jaba and Rick! But was he from Saxony, Prussia, Saxon in the Prussia unit, Prussian in the Saxony unit or is it impossible to tell? If the Saxony awards are first ones, was the owner pure Saxon?
    3. Hi, Today arrived parcel with this nice medal bar. 1. EK2 (Eiserne Kreuz 2 Klasse) 2. SHsM (Silver Medal of the Military Order of St. Henry) 3. FAMs (Friedrich-August Medal silver) 4. Hindenburg Cross with X Questions. First Silver St. Henry medal - is it NCO-s award or also officers? How many those silver medals is awarded? (approx even) Because there is as well FAMs is it then 100% NCO medal bar or would be as well officers(NCO become officer during WW1)? Same time there is no LS award but is Hindenburg Cross, so I think its NCO (if St Henry medal is pure NCO award what officers didnt got), now would be interesting to hear what gurus think . Is the owner from the Saxony or Prussia or its impossible to say. (If the Saxony awards would be first, is it then possible to say 100% that the owner was from the Saxony?) Is my wroted abreviations right and how to write correctly the Hindenburg cross? (like FAM: is it have to be FAMiS - Friedrich August Medal im Silber???) All extra info would be great!
    4. Hi, I checked again on daylight and eagles are definetly golden ones. Is it shows that one of the awards would be 25 years LS cross?
    5. Hi Rick, Your photo is from 1919-1924 period. After 1924 uniform reform in the Estonia Defense Forces, they start using only there own designed uniforms and different insignia. But this volunteer is wearing some mixed uniform. First war aid arrived to Estonia from England 18th December 1918 when there fleet arrived to Tallinn. They bring as well lots of uniforms from England and States for young Estonia army. So, one is sure that photo cant be maid before year 1919. Now insignia. The badge of Sakala Single Infantry Battalion was established at the end of the War of Liberation. Actually after the battalion went to the action (31st December 1918). Usually it was hand made to just recognize each other on the battle field. After the war same sword-half skull-half face design was on use as "Sakala partisans battalion" insignia. Sakala is the old name of the county where this battalion was formed. Now known as "Viljandimaa". Cap insignia is as well from War of Liberation period (design remain an Imperial Russia army). After 1924 year uniform reform they start using different insignia as well. Sakala Single Infranty Battalion metal badge was established 1st October 1930. Registered in 5th July 1934 in the Ministry of Defence and it was in use until 1940. Sakala metal badge insignia Sakala county in the south: Sakala Single Infantry Battalion has not been restored after 1991. This photo is definetly made end of the War of Liberation and before 1924.

    11. Hi all, I got yesterday new ribbon bar what looks very nice! Is it right: the owner was 1WW vet, who got EK2 and probably Reuss merit medal (is it possibal to say regarding the swords is it golden or silver?). Or can it be even Honor cross?? Is it possible to say was the owner NCO or officer? Then 30s he got Hindenburg cross and active service during 2WW because KVK2 with X and two Wehrmacht LS awards. Is it right that during 2WW Wehrmachtbeamters didnt got army LS awards? Ribbon bar packing is grey. Any extra information and ideas would be great!

    14. Hi all, Sorry about my stupid question again. I try to study ribbon and medal bars and one another question arise. What colors was on use and is there any spesific ones, what can match with exact branch. Like I got this nice three place Bavaria ribbon bar and there is used blue cloth backing. Is it mean that this bar was only for the Imperial Navy? Also is there any lists, what color backings different makers used? Also was there makers who made medal or ribbon bars just for a Navy or Army. Oh, lots of questions again. I hope someone can advise me a little Regards, Noor

    17. Can someone help me with the Jerusalem cross please. What was the awarding criterias, when was it established, etc. I tried to find information from internet but not much luck at all so far. Also any new ideas about the owner? Saschaw... I think the Jerusalem cross is not a replacement. Can someone explain to me why LS cross is between two Red Cross medals? Why III class is not front of it? Lots of questions but I hope you guys can help me. Best regards, Noor
    18. Paddy, I am not so bad! Look what you got and I left the best ones to you!.... dont worrie, I will swap them as well one day
    19. Thank you guys for information! I will try to make better photos over the weekend when I can use daylight. But yes, nr 1 second ribbon is green. Nr. 4 second ribbon has red lines on the corners. So, its the Anhalt? Here is one another my new singel ribbon bar.... I was sure before that its something like Mecklenburg-Schwerin Milit?rverdienstkreuz but those black lines dont match.... so what ribbon it would be?
    20. I got today some simple but nice ribbon bars and would like some help. 1. First ribbon must be Albert Order (Albrechts-Orden). But what can the second one be? Is it some kind of vet organistation award ribbon? 2. What could the 4th ribbon be? Some Hanseatic cross? But why then is it the last one? So, I think it is some kind of vet organisation award as well or am I wrong? 3. One of my favorites! Proud Bavaria (Navy?)soldier who put EK2 after his BMVK ribbon. Last ribbon have to be King Ludwig Cross (K?nig Ludwig Kreuz). Am I right? 4. What could the second ribbon be? Turkish? But which award then? 5. Baden medic? 6. Freikorps men who saw action in the Silesia area. TR period he was a policeman. Am I right?
