    1. Hello Being a guy with not a lot of money to spend on collecting, and desperately wanting another german helmet. I bought a helmet for about 10 euros, a while back. The helmet was an M-40, That was painted in a thick layer of postwar applied black paint, with spots of rust, truly ugly. The helmet had the original metal liner ring, but postwar rivets, leather liner and chinstrap. I put the helmet on a shelf, but after a few months, that ugly paint started to irritate me. I had a good look at the helmet, and then I detected traces of a damaged decal under the paint. I rolled up my sleeves, and found a can of paint stripper, and set to work. I must admit that I was a bit intimidated, because I had never done this before. I took only about a square inch at a time, so that I could control the paint stripping properly. After a while, I uncovered a damaged, and toned Heer decal, it looks allmost like a KM eagle, but it's the clear lacker that has yellowed. The helmet allso has it's original paint finish, and I managed to preserve most of the camouflage finish. It looks like light green paint has been brushed on in segments. I know that helmet collectors probably won't like what I am doing, but everyting is better than the state it was in before i started, I hope. The pictures below, shows it's present state. I still have a little work left, but luckily, the interior was left in it's original colour. I know it's not the perfect helmet, but I hope you like it. All the best Snoopy
    2. I have seen a lot of this stuff in Norway. The germans left huge quantitys of china, when they left. I have never really collected german china, but over the years I have managed to find quite a few pieces. Allmost all of my china, is the most ordinary stuff, and have cost me allmost nothing, and all of it comes from Norway, no internet buys. A lot of the china manufactured at the norwegian firm, Porsgrunn, has the eagle on top of the glacing. If the germans took over allready manufactured china, and then applied the eagles, I really don't know. There are allso some pieces of german manufactured china, that has a Luftwaffe emblem, over the glacing. This china belonged to a training unit, that was stationed in Norway. To get to the point, I have no doubt about the originality of my china, and I don't like when fakers, makes it more difficult, for us collectors. All the best Snoopy The pieces below, are from the Porsgrunn factory, and has the eagles on top of the glacing.
    3. Hello Eric Thank's for your interesting question. This is the information, that I can find at the moment, about the aircraft and crew. The Junker Ju 188 A-3, was on a ferry flight, when the accident happened. The aircraft had a crew of four, and a passenger. It was quite normal, that the first mechanic, accompanied the crew, on such flights. It crashed on the 15th of february 1945. It belonged to 8./III KG 26, and it carried the identification codes, 1H+ES. Snoopy Names of the crew: Pilot: Feldwebel Julius Conrad Navigator: Unteroffizier Heinz Reusonett Radio op.: Unteroffizier Georg R?mer Fl. eng. Unteroffizer Hans Budenbach 1. mechanic: Wilhelm Utend?rffer
    4. Thank you very much, guys. These coins, are really fascinating items. Just thinking about who might have handled these coins, back in the roman period, is fascinating. Maybe it was roman soldiers, on watch at the Hadrians wall, or some roman merchant. I really appreciate your offer, concerning identification of the coins, Eduardo. One of these days, I will warm up the scanner. All the best Snoopy
    5. Would it not be kind of stupid, to have unit stamped money. Then they would only have been allowed to spend the money within the unit. I know that there exists messtokens, but to use old regular currency. Snoopy
    6. Hello Kevin Thank you very much. I am hopeless with the camera. The pictures allmost allways, comes out to dark. All the best Snoopy
    7. Hello I have a small collection of roman copper coins. Allmost all of them are bought, on my trips to England. Most of them are worn, and none of them are valuable. My fascination with these coins, is to actually own something, that's between 1500 and 2000 years old. I believe that most of them, are from the late roman period. I am sorry about the bad pictures. I used a digital camera, and not a scanner. All the best Snoopy
    8. Another M-35 helmet, sadly used by the norwegian resistance (MILORG), for target practice.
    9. Hello Marc Thank you very much, and I will follow your advice. All the best Snoopy
    10. Do you think that I should do something about the rust, or should I leave it as it is?
