    1. Thanks again for reminding me about omsa Ed, I will endevour to spend some more time over there!
    2. Thanks yet again Alex, so would the Vichy version be somewhat rare nowadays?
    3. Laurence and Alex, if you're ever in Sydney it's my shout!
    4. Hi Darrell, some of them I didn't, but I'm just checking that I have the correct names for my records. Some I have been right about, but some I haven't. Do you know what this particular piece is actually called at all please?
    5. Thank you Laurence! I paid $10US for this, is that good or bad or average?
    6. Last one gents! Can anyone identify the medal on the left in these photos please? No description was given with it. With this my six Belgium medals will be correctly identified! Thanking you again!
    7. This one that arrived today was labelled Belgium Fighters Medal, is that correct please? Thanks in anticipation giant brains of the GMIC!
    8. Hello again gents! I do apologize for the poor quality of these photos, but I'm hoping they will be enough for you to identify this medal for me. It was labelled Belgium Victory Medal 1914-1918, would this be correct please?
    9. Thanks for that love4history! I didn't notice that, and I'll keep my eye on it in the future!
    10. Good evening again Gentlemen! This arrived today, and it was labelled French Forein Legion Valor medal, but I don't know, the reverse seems to say something different. I would like to ask the brains trust of GMIC if they can identify this for me! Sorry about the photos and thanks in advance!
    11. Hello again! This one came in the mail today, it was described as DT Reich Medaille Das Land Tirol 1914-1918. Could somebody let me know if that is the correct name for it please? Sorry the photo isn't the best, and there is no reverse photo. The reverse has an Austrain eagle on the back, well, I'm presuming it's an Austrian one at any rate. Thanks again gentlemen!
    12. More here: http://www.medals.lava.pl/pl/pl3c2.htm#dll. Hi again Lukasz, I was reading the link again that you provided, is the Leader of Labor Decoration the silver grade, and the Meritorious Leader of Labor Decoration the silver one, like mine? I didn't understand from the link which was which, so I'm guessing the Gold was the Meritorious Leader as opposed to a plain Leader. Am I correct? Thanks!
    13. Thanks everyone, especially Speedytop for the correct German term! Yes Kevin, that's the one I have. When you all say it's a privately purchased one, does that mean a veterans organization designed it, or who actually finalizes the appearance of these non-official awards? Are they agreed on by a commitee? Once they are made, can anyone buy one, or would you have had to have served at Flanders, or been in the Marinekorp? Were these designed and made with the Navy's approval? Thanks again all of you!
    14. Thanks again Jeff, now you mention it, it does look like a name tag holder. I will post a better photo soon!
    15. Thanks again Ed, and I've changed the search from 'Red Bible' to the correct title. There sure are a lot of hits when I type in Red Bible! Unfortunately none of them were about Soviet Awards!
    16. Thanks Kevin, Stogieman, militaria and Tom! I appreciate your knowledge and research prowess! I have altered my records to remove the erroneous description that was given me by the seller!
    17. Thank you Kevin and Naxos! My records are now almost complete!
    18. Thank you Kev for that, and thanks SPM, I have looked again at the edge of the medal and it is indeed smooth with no writing on it. When you say non-officially awarded period copy, who would have been awarded this, and who did the awarding?
    19. Hi Jeff! It does have a full ribbon, I'm sorry the only photo I have doesn't show that. I should have waited as it has a clip or clasp on the top that I wanted to ask about, it is a full horizontal rectangular metal piece with the pin on the back and the reverse of the pin and the catching loop (?) runs through and is exposed on the front of the rectangular metal piece on the top of the ribbon. I will post a full photo when I can get all my awards photographed. Thanks for your reply!
    20. Thanks again Ed, and thanks for that link. I'm sorry I didn't think to go through all the posts on the Saudi section. When you say it is often misidentified on ebay, do you mean like the description I was given, or in some other way? I have also placed a permanent search in ebay and Amazon for The Red Bible by McDaniel & Schmitt. Is that the correct title? Thanks again!
    21. Thank you once more Alex, at this rate I'm going to have to put you on my Christmas card list!
    22. Okay, thanks Ferdinand. Would something like this have been given for service in Afghanistan or Chechnya?
