    2. Yet another original photo of a group of sailors. All informations and comments are most welcomed!
    3. I understand that connections to certain countries falls into the closest group etc, but in this case he is WAY off ! The medal is not in any way linked to the state of Slovakia, and even the text says "Slovakia".. It's like saying that a Slovakian medal is Swedish. They should simply say it's Hungarian, we made an error. Cheers! Péter
    4. But Seriously! Item number; 384. Slovakia, Medal of Slovakian merit w / crown........ What a nonsense!!! A notable auction house would at least get the country right in a printed catalogue for heaves sake! It's a Hungarian medal.. Good try anyway.. Cheers! Péter
    5. Also new in the collection is this Austrian commemorative medal for 1914-1918 with crossed swords. The original box is made of hard paper.
    6. Long time now since i made an update here. I haven't stopped my collecting though... Here's the bronze medal of merit with the crowns and crossed swords on green military ribbon. This award was instituted in Hungary 1930 for those who were eligible for awards in the final years of WW1 but never was awarded because of the end of the war. The miniature on trifold was the highest award received.
    7. Yes, I suspected that they would be fakes actually, but I wanted to know more. Is there maybe anyone who would have some original medal photos to post for easier compare? Cheers! Péter
    8. I'm looking forward for a HPR Fake thread, here on GMIC as well. And I'm happy that the gentlemen spirit of this site is still on top here.. We are all ONE big collector family! Greetings, Péter
    9. China # 5. The Person pictured on this medal is Marshall Lin Biao. GMIC topic: http://gmic.co.uk/in...?showtopic=8949
    10. In the last three years I started to notice a lot of different medals from the PRC on different sale sites. A friend of mine bought these medals, quite cheap (sold as originals of course).. The quality are, as you can see, very poor.. So does anyone have more informations or reference photos to what they are? Suggestions, comments and any info are most welcomed! Cheers! Péter China # 1.
    11. With the Mahorka cigarette in the mouth and the dust goggles on his M40 ushanka..
