However in Russian Wikipedia his nickname is Andrew. So I checked his book SPECIAL TASKS : THE MEMOIRS OF AN UNWANTED WITNESS - A SOVIET SPYMASTER Pavel Sudoplatov and Anatoli Sudoplatov (Little Brown, Boston, 1994). In part "Meeting with Beria" you can read that his nickname is Andrew. Sorry that this information is not available on english sites...

    16. Hint# 1 I joined CheKa at the age of fourteen and finally rose to the rank of Lieutenant General. At the end of my career I was sentenced and served in full 15 years of prison.
