    1. This is a pure 3.Reich era ribbon bar with: 1: Medal for Sudetenland (Anschluss) , 1938 2. Medal for Austria (Anschluss) , 1938 3. some kind of 3.Reich long service , see the missing device in the middle... Wehrmacht or maybe police?
    2. Hi Brian, for shure bavaria , either it is the military merit order (MVO) for officers or the military merit cross (for soldiers + nco) - the ribbons were the same , we will never know what yours was for... cheers Heiko
    3. Hi Tony, of course there are clasps that are more rare than others.... depends on what they were for.... there were over 100 of these clasps for the Kyffhäuser medal and you can imagine that more soldiers (many thousends...) could get for example the clasp for the battle at the Somme or for your example Brest-Litowsk - because hundred thousends soldiers fought these battles - but only a hand full of men would have got clasps like Palästina , Südsee , Ostasien or other exotic clasps.... cheers Heiko
    4. Tony..... sometimes things are not as easy explained as people want them to be explained... and in todays world sometimes it is the only way to just say "it is a copy" ...sorry but especially the colonial battle clasps have seen some new and very better fakes during the last year - the enemy is getting better and makes it harder for us... I have no clasps at home to make scans for some fake-original comparism..... also I don`t want to explain the exact details of these things , as Kevin said.... don`t teach the fakers too much.... the actual fakes of these Kyffhäuser clasps around on ebay and other sites are far away from beeing good fakes - all can be detected by a small look. The Palästina shown here is one of these... I will not give you exact data but I can say that the original has different meassures , different shape and a bit different writing. You cannot see the backside prongs here but the fakes have different prongs to the original too...and of course different material. I don`t want to post links to running auctions because the sellers would not like that but I will keep my eyes open for some things on ebay and pm you Troy and Tony to show you the good ones and the bad ones.. cheers Heiko
    5. Combinations of different states are always possible for regular soldiers and NCOs because of many reasons as said before.... only sometimes these reasons will show up because of a specific regiment the soldier has on the board - more often it is because of some things that happened during some years of service.... see this one...
    6. ...of course there are other possibilities , for example on N°5 if there are more stripes we can`t see because they could be under the next ribbon...
    7. Paul............ you are travelling WITHOUT your ribbons ID book ???? That`s what I see : 1. Saxe-Coburg-Gotha : oval silver Carl Eduard medal with crown 2. some kind of SEHO 3. ??? Bulgaria - Romania , out of line of the other awards I know , maybe some for me unknown saxon thing ? 4. Saxe-Coburg-Gotha : Wedding rememberence medal Carl Eduard 1905 5. Saxe-Altenburg : live saving medal (?) 6. Prussia crown order or Württemberg Friedrich order 7. Saxe-Weimar: long service award or more likely the White falcon on the ribbon till 1909 8. Saxe-Weimar: White Falcon on the red ribbon after 1909 cheers Heiko
    8. Believe me.... I had hundreds of original ones in my hand and hundreds of faked too....
    9. The clasp is a fake , the ribbon is wrong and the whole thing comes from Mr.Frankensteins castle..... :shame:
    10. DSKB stands for "Deutscher Soldaten und Kameradschaftsbund" and I know it is a hard world....and everything can happen..... and everything happens .... but I really think that these things are not faked by now..... :D
    11. ...of course possible - and he could have been 60-65 years old when he was 18 and a young soldier in 1897
