    1. oh yes there are..... and of course many who "lost" their swords to make a rare noncom of them .... and so son...
    2. ....just checked the fingerprints again with the sherlockscope.... ...... I think his EK is white-black non-com............
    3. thanks Rick , then I can put the name on the data-paper and the additional info too.... very well observed Mr.Watson.... but I promise they are not mine!!!
    4. I think we have to make it a bit more clear for Ulan what the combination problems are here....you need to understand the real world to see Frankensteins world... by the way : Castle Frankenstein is not in Ohio BUT just some miles away from me between Frankfurt and Darmstadt.... huuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhh 1. iron cross second class - ww1 1914-18 prussian standart award to both officers and nco`s / soldiers 2.Bavaria military merit order - that is an officers only award ! on your bar it is on the ribbon that is the peacetime ribbon for the order OR the combattant ribbon before ww1 - but an officers award makes no sense here... and the nco award for that ribbon looks different...if it should be for ww1 the ribbon is wrong... 3. china medal for combattants 4. Kriegerverdienst-Medaille - the small one for foreigners.... but I think if he got that one in china he was no foreigner (given the case he was a bavarian) because their were no state / nation troops from the german states but only "german troops" - no foreigners - all germans awarded something like that got in china the MEZ2 - the big one .... as far as I know.. 5. Württemberg silver merit medal for ww1 6. Austria , don`t know the name ... ww1? 7. Bayern Luitpold medal 1905 - ah , he is bavarian... 8. Bavaria again - 15years long service awards for nco`s... goes not confirm with MVO in second place... 9. Centenar medal 1897 ..... uuuuiiiiuuuiii.... I am not shure if bavarian soldiers got them in 1897 ??? and by the way... long service time from 1897 over china (counts double) over 1905 over ww1 (counts double).........and no more DA ..... ah forgot , had to be an officer...... That`s what I read from this bar - and that`s just the combination , not the material , not the sewing , not the medals or the needle... just the combination - that`s how bars can talk.... My personal opinion is - return it if you can as fast as you can.... all the best Heiko
    5. .........as I said before I have my doubts on the authenticity of the bar - not talking about the single orders and medals - the bar as a whole thing looks new made to me , look for example at that shiny new needle on the back........all ribbons look very new and some of the awards too..... but my main problem is the combination of awards - in my eyes still impossible !!! But I go down on my knees waiting for Sascha who has a completely different opinion..........
    6. OK Sascha, as long as we have no new thread .... why do you think it is good - could you please explain the order combination as it is there .... I have massive problems with that Enlightment please....
    7. OK Ulan, seems to become an interesting discussion with Sascha... start a new thread on this one - could become a bit more.... huge Heiko
    8. Is anyone out there who can confirm that there was a Marine-Generaloberarzt a.D. and Regierungsmedizinalrat Dr.Schulte on this planet about 90 years ago??? I do not trust everything that is written on old photos - confirmation is better.... Any input is welcome Heiko
    9. Hello Ulan to the gmic........ worlds greatest military forum first of all , better start a new thread on things like this.... second, ..... please show us the back.... third......... I have seen this on ebay..... and last but unfortunately least too ........... if not all rules have been written new over night this bar has to be new made fake stuff...... look at the combination of awards....... in my eyes impossible!!!
    10. Nice piece Christer........... but what about your picture of Feldwebel Frenzle - that`s what I want to see.......
    11. there is everything what you need to ID medal bars by battle clasps...... and of course a bit of luck !!! lists of battles , units , movements of units , units that splitted during the war.... each battle with the active units and so on.... try to get this somewhere on egay or in the antique store around your corner !!!! (or................ ask very friendly if you can live with copied paper.......... )
    12. Rick and all interested people..... now some kind of advertisment , I think it is ok when I use these pictures.... I am a member of BDOS myself and please see it as a marketing mission now for new members... GO AND BECOME A MEMBER OF BDOS this is the german OMSA.... ...then you get these beautiful and very useful journals - today they look a bit different but important is what is inside!!! This is Nr.59 from 1994..... there is what Rick is looking for.... very useful , very important.... because now he can plan a new project for himself...
    13. .....this should be the uniform of Braunschweigisches Husaren Regiment Nr.17
    14. ................... of course I would have said that...... unfortunately the reverse is completely blanco....... sorry
    15. misunderstanding.........sorry ......... I thought Thierry wanted to know the awards that you see on the pictures and not all they ever got....
    16. Christian, there are some more possibilities on that ribbon - not only noncom Oldenburg... What about a (a bit odd) combination of his blue DA with a Württemberg DA ? Or it can be a Oldenburg Gendamerie DA .... Or - ok not often seen - a Ernst August Orden of Hannover.... all is better than a Oldenburg noncom...
    17. ...no problem with the authenticity - it is an original piece with the typical needle system of the maker BB&Co , you can see the makers mark under the needle... greez Heiko
    18. Hey Rick ( the good one of course... ), as a little goodie for all your help here is my latest found Tamara for you... as always in bavarian connection - enjoy
    19. ....you think about a Schlageter-shield ? No , it is 100% a wound badge.... from what I can see on the ribbon bar I would say in 11/18 he had only iron cross 2.class and bavarian MVK ... I think all others are freikorps ribbons....
    20. Here he comes - one of the best Freikorps photos I ever got.... 2 cap badges , 3 pinbacks and a 9 place ribbon bar !!! As little goodie he gave us his name : Karl Vogt On his cap he has a Edelweiß and a skull !!! As pinbacks he has a wound badge (silver or gold) , a Baltic cross and a Awaloff cross !!! On his ribbon bar he has some Freikorps ribbons and first iron cross and bavarian MVK - so if he was a bavarian native he could have been in the mountain troops (remember the Edelweiss) but what stands the skull for??? Does anybody know something about him??? thanks for all comments and help Heiko
