    2. pictures are not the best but the two battle clasps are good looking original pieces Heiko
    3. wow, your second bar is really great!!!! First a MVK 3.class with crown and swords and then a MVK 3.class WITHOUT swords on the peacetime ribbon - very rare and great to look at!!! On your first bar it is the MVK 3.class with crown and swords - the normal class for sergeants and feldwebel (what is this in english?) Heiko
    4. here is one of mine.... any comments on the owner are welcome, there can`t be too many possibilities... Heiko
    5. Rick, it is a great feeling to see the big brother of my ribbon bar!!! Thanks for sharing that picture!!! Heiko
    6. @Christophe: you are right... this large beauty was worn by Oberstleutnant Holtz of the Baden field artillery Heiko
    7. I think I need to do a bank robbery to get all the money I would need for the next Thies auction.... great pieces from a great collection!!!! Heiko
    8. Stogie.... don`t buy from this seller on ebay germany!!!!! His nickname is "tunnelmolch" and he often sells fakes, I think he only sells fakes It is Mr.Wilfried Freitag from Bad Driburg who is well known in germany for faked battle clasps, new build medal bars and all other kinds of (expensive) fakes.... he has always some thousand auctions on militariaweb.com under the name "nordwind" - TAKE CARE!!! Heiko
    9. here is a photo of a high decorated officer and there is his name also but I am not shure what is written there... maybe someone can help with his complete name and can ID all the medals on the bar... thank you + good night Heiko
    10. the second medal is on the wrong ribbon, too - this one is the ribbon for the Kyffh?user medal...
    11. Chris, the german medics in boer war were: proffesor: -K?ttner doctors: - Flockemann - Hildebrandt - Matthiolius - Ringel - Stahmer - Strehl - Wieting sanis: - Ackermann - Dietz - Eckert - Gudian - Heuschkel - Jaecks - Kiessling - Mantel - Muuss - Nagel - Rachel - Sack - Spies - Stabenow nurses: - B?tef?hr - Heiler - Held - Lieberknecht - Petrat - Thiel - Westphal - Wittum Heiko
    12. Hi Pete, these clasps were only for the medical personal of the "medical volunteer service" (Freiwillige Krankenpflege). Only these few sanis or docs who went in the special crisis region got the bar... 2 x Ostasien and 5 x S?dwestafrika were for the second class, all others were for third class medals. Some people (6) got 2 clasps and 1 got 3 clasps for several journeys... If you still had the medal you could get a clasp to the medal later... Heiko
    13. Rick, the honour cross came together with these bars and some red cross stickpins, it was simply not mounted on the bar, it is a honour cross without swords... Heiko
    14. there are only 2 clasps which are similar to the colonial medal and the china medal... it is "Peking" and "S?dwestafrika 1904/06" but these clasps for the red cross medal have different styles. There were: T?rkei 1897 (inofficial) - maybe 1 S?dafrika 1899/1900 - 30 Ostasien 1900/01 - 77 Peking - 5 Charbin 1904/05 - 10 S?dwestafrika 1904/06 - ca.105 rare pieces all of them... Heiko
    15. brandnew pictures of this bar and the ultra-rare clasp "S?dafrika 1899 1900" are here in this thread in the 1933-45 section "general awards" ENJOY http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3215 Heiko
    16. we are all dreamers and some dreams will never end but this one... The problem is that I am not familar with red cross awards... especially with these ones for the medical volunteer forces. Additional with these two bars there is a 1934 Hindenburg cross without swords and some medical stickpins. still every help to get the owner is welcome... Heiko
