    1. Hello all, after this great succes with the two officers id?d on photos yesterday here is one more navy officer that should be possible - look at his neck order!!! As a little "thank you" for your great work here is another photo that shows Major von Rappart wearing a very nice medal bar - unfortunately he has been killed in action on 26.9.1914 in Sandfontain/Southwestafrica - ENJOY!!! greetings Heiko
    2. A short question to both of the twins..... Rick, Rick: how do you want to organize our battle clasp comparism? Shall we make one thread for each battleground (CHINA MEDAL, SOUTHWEST MEDAL, COLONIAL MEDAL) or all in one - I think all in one would be too much, there you can`t find anything again.... just give some short ideas and instructions and then we can start Heiko
    3. good morning all of you and thank you very much Glenn for this information!!!! great work!!! Heiko
    4. Guys, again you all are unbelievable!!!! Thank you very much, and my promise for next year: there are still some nice photographs to come!!! Heiko
    5. forget Nordwind.... the Auob ribbon bar is from him as well OK, I misunderstood you, minis were not very often seen, but the two on your bar and the Auob from my bar has the same style, and Nordwinds Venezuela mini also.... I have some groups with minis that are 100% authentic, new year will start with a great and gigantic thread... by the way, what is the meaning of "YUK" ??? Heiko
    6. Rick, I don`t know right now of which african bar you are talking but during the last month there were about 50 faked colonial battle clasps only on ebay germany - 50!!!! Just in one online auction house...... It is a good idea to show all clasps we have and then we can discuss each one. I had promised that to Rick Research earlier in the year but had not the time to do, sorry again. Now I will take the time and scan all clasps I have.... tomorrow I will start. Heiko PS: here is the original miniature Peitang Forts bar of Oberst Kadelbach - great artwork!!!
    7. Rick and Bob, here is an example for what I want to say.... the original one (Tientsin) is a quality product just like the big ones ---- the faked clasp (Auob) is of very poor quality, you nearly can`t read the letters.... that`s the difference....
    8. yes the scratches are too bad, here is another one which might be possible to ID.... please help, I promise it`s my last ID wish for this year....
    9. Hi all, would it be possible to ID this officer? Please notice the Anhalt neck order, Eagle 4, Crown 3, 25y, China, Soutwest, Saxony Albrecht,..... any help is very welcome!!! thank you Heiko
    10. To make this a bit more clear... of course there were different writings on some battle clasps, mostly on the inofficial ones. I will give some examples: 1870/71: "an der Lisaine" "a d Lisaine" "Lisaine" ----- "Mont Valerien" "M.Valerien" ---- "Paris" "Vor Paris" ---- "Metz" "Cernierung von Metz" China : "Kitschou" "Kitchou" ---- "Nan-Hung-Men" "Nang-Hu-Men" ---- "Liang-Siang-Shien" "Liang-Hsiang-Hsien" ---- Kuan-Tschang" Kuantschang" Soutwestafrica: "Nurudas" "Narudas" (since 1908) ---- "Karas-Berge" "K?ras-Berge" "Karasberge" ---- "Herero-Land" "Hereroland" BUT Nossob is Nossob and not Nassob... there is no reason why this place should have a new name. This and the not very fine making of this clasp is what me gives not a very good feeling on these clasps.... any other comments are welcome Heiko
    11. HeHe... quaaak quaaak Welcome to Kermits silvestre party!!! Stogie, we had this one discussed on a german forum before and we all had the same opinion on the 2 clasps... we don`t think that they are real and old, but if you have them in the hand maybe you can tell us more... problems are the poor quality of the letters which is normally very high on this mini clasps and the text.... the name should be "Nossob" and not "Nassob"....and there is no different writing possible. can you give more details on the bar? Heiko
    12. Don, I know many saxon bars with both FAM on it, bronze and silver, but you need to get each of it... bronze for normal soldier ranks and silver for NCO ranks. This bar here seems to be a soldiers bar, there are only "normal" awards on it and no specials, as Claudio said for some of them YOU had to ask... and most of the NCO`s had the 15y service cross and not the medal... Heiko
    13. I would agree with stogie, bronze FA-medals were given to "normal" soldiers, not to NCO`s - but of course it`s a very nice bar Heiko
    14. @Ed : Thank you very much for the answer on the british order question!!! @Rick: Thies said in the auction description that Weddings bars will come with a huge documentary, but I don`t now what this means if it is said by Thies.... maybe he wants to become the worldchampion in splitting up groups... Heiko
    15. thanks Claudio for Weddings photo, I have one wearing the bar from the auction but this one is even bigger... great picture!!!
    16. Thanks Claudio, indeed very cheap for that bar restored or not... Joe, Wedding went for 4200 Euro... Heiko
    17. Hi Gary, thanks for your compliments on my collection but there is still much missing !!! The medal was not really awarded... it is a medal from a Vets organization (Bund deutscher Marinevereine) just like the Kyffh?usermedal or the Ehrenlegion. If you were a member of this organization or any navy club and you could show in your military papers that you have served during ww1 in a navy unit at the front you could ask for the medal. If you was present in the battle of the skagerrak (the only really sea battle during ww1) you could get the clasp. Denkm?nze means as much as "rememberance medal" or something like that... Here is a picture of a award document Heiko
    18. Claudio, do you remember the final sale price for Hutiers bar? I can`t find it at the moment... great bars these big ones!!!! For what did Wedding get the british order??? Heiko
    19. Hello again, to complete this here is a medal bar, a ribbon bar and the batte clasp Heiko
    20. I forgot.... the medal is not too rare, but not very often seen, thats right...the battle clasps are much more rare than the medal itself. I have some on big naval medal bars and some on ribbon bars. In germany they are still good to find, I have just sold this one a week ago... Heiko
    21. here is the medal for the ribbon, additional there is a battle clasp for this medal "Skagerrak" but I don`t have the time right now to make a scan, maybe tonight... Heiko
