    1. I asked my friend in Iraq why the Cobra Attack Helicopter on the badge so he asked him directly and the manufacturer was told to produce a badge with a helicopter image (not a specific type) and he chose the Cobra type by chance. Bob
    2. Mervyn, I have no idea why the use of English on the coins as they are standard coinage. The reason I purchased them years ago was for the hammer and sickle design on the reverse. Bob
    3. The second set of coins 1924-1931 that I did another post on have the same silver content and ASW as the 1921-1923 set. Bob
    4. While I was stationed at Phu Cat Air Base Republic of Vietnam in 1969, there was an aircraft vehicle recovery vehicle called "Big Bertha". This vehicle is huge as you can see in the picture an individual standing behind it in the building. I don't have much information on it but believe there was only 6 made.     8. This is a South Vietnamese Identification Card for a female. She was born on 12-12-1955 in Saigon and lived in Nha-Trang. The card was issued on 5-10-1970. It is 3-11/16 in. wide, 2-3/8 in high. Bob

    12. A 15 Year Anniversary Medal of Medicine for the Binh Phuoc Province. It is made of plastic, 1-1/16 in from point to point, 2-1/4 in. high and pinback. The second item is a badge for the Republic of Vietnam Red Cross. It is 11/16 in. diameter, made of aluminum and has a clutchback pin. Bob

    14. This is an identity card for a female born on 31-01-1952 and living in Ho Chi Minh City. The card is 3-1/2 in. wide and 2-1/4 in. high. Bob

    16. Commemorative Medal to celebrate 300 Years existence of Bien Hoa in Dong Nai Province. The planchet is 1-3/8 in. diameter, 2-3/16 in. high, made of plastic and has a pinback. I was stationed at Bien Hoa Air Base from November 1969-May 1970. The village of Bien Hoa was right outside the perimeter fence. Bob

    19. Nick, I posted a 1979, 2nd class Medal awarded by Guangzhou Military Region during the war with Vietnam of counterattack in self defense. It can be seen on the NLF-VC Medals and Badges in the Southeast Asia Section post # 25 and 26. Bob
    20. Brass Fortress of the Fatherland Decoration Second Class. It was awarded for efforts in support of the resistance in the South. It was awarded in two classes. It has disappeared from the Official Orders and Decorations Roster although it continues to be worn. It is 1-3/16 in. wide 2-1/8 in. high, made of aluminum and has a pinback. Bob
    21. Elvis, This is the problem we have with trying to figure out who made what. My friend in Iraq says the shoulder boards were made in Iraq by the Official Military Sewing Factory and you are sure they were done by the German Supplier. There isn't a stamp or manufacturer's tag on them to prove either way. If we knew the German SB's had a reinforced lining on the inside on all of them, that would definitely help for identification. I respect your response but how are we to know 100% either way? Bob

It celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the women's association who work for and defend the fatherland. Translation around badge- Women Association Building Security for Fatherland. Bob
