    1. Thanks for your replies Nevertheless, it's significant that more than 19.000 KVK was awarded and only 1945 MVM Regards
    2. Hi, This Lippe-Detmold medal bar is one of my last purchases, and I have some doubts about the Military Merit Medal: If the basic bravery decoration of this Principality is the Kriegsverdienstkreuz, what was the reason for concession of this medal? Maybe is like a "longtime service medal"....?
    3. I believe that this one has a level of finished similar to the second one: http://www.medal-medaille.com/sold/product_info.php?cPath=276&products_id=6606
    4. Looks like a modern fake for me, but it's better than an expert (Avsar, Tim Tezer, Demir, Josef Rietveld....) give his opinion. Regards
    5. Since I collect medals and decorations, always I have surprised why, frequently, rarer decorations are, nevertheless, cheaper than others more common. For example, a Albrechtsorden (knight 2nd class with swords) it's more expensive than a Silver Medal of the Military Order of St. Henry: both are Saxon awards, both are bravery awards, the SAO for lieutenants and the SHM for enlisted and NCO. Nevertheless, the SHM is a bit scarcer than the SAO Other example more "extreme", during the first world war, are awarded aprox. 3800 bavarian MVK 2nd class with crown and swords for senior NCO's, and aprox. 24000 bavarian MVO 4th class for lieutnants. The MVO is much more common, but also it's more expensive. Which is the reason of this?...maybe, the collectors prefer the enameled decorations?, prefer the awards for officiers?....
    6. Finally, I have found some information in the book "The german Army at Passchendaele", Jack Sheldon
    7. I'm trying to obtain information about the history of the IR94 (Großherzog von Sachsen) during the WWI, and (extracted from the missing web of David Danner) I have found this: "After fighting in the Somme, IR94 was sent to Flanders in 1917, where it was reorganized as shock troops (Stoßtruppen). In the Third Battle of Ypres in July 1917, the regiment stood in the path of the British main assault, and took massive casualties. Thirty-two officers and 1,137 NCOs and enlisted men were killed or missing, and only 200 men were left. " i would apreciate it any aditional information about this. Best regards
    8. Avsar, thank you for warning about this fakes. What do you think about this osmanie order: 250709386882 ? Best regards Enrique
    9. Hello Yankee and Elmar, Thanks to both for your replies and for sharing your knowledge Returning to the topic of this thread.....here's my eko (maker: Rozet und Fischmeister)
    10. The EKO's post-1915 were made in gilt bronze, and the hallmark of bronze is an asterisk.....but, why some of these eko have this mark and others not? Maybe, only have the asterisk the 1916-18 issues and the post- war issues not? or maybe that some manufacturers did not put the asterisk?
    11. Finally, the bar has been sold in 4000$ http://cgi.ebay.com/WWI-WWII-GERMAN-OFFICER-SERVICE-MEDAL-BAR-SAXONY-/320579410390?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0
    12. Hi, I have found this interesting photo of a group of minuatures, and though I believe that I have recognized (with great effort) three of them, I cannot find the others 2nd: Order of st. John of Acre and st. Thomas (http://www.ord-sgast.it/storia.htm) 4th: Officier of the French Academy of Arts, Sciences and Letters 6th: Order of Artistic Education (France) any idea about the others?
    13. Thanks Alex, Then if the usual is awarded first with the SAO and later with the SHO (for a very brave saxon officier, of course), In that cases were awarding an officier with the SVO with swords? Regards
    14. I have several doubts on the concession of the saxon merit order. If I am not mistaken, the order of precedence of the Saxon orders is: Albert order----->Merit Order-----> St.Henry order But I have seen enough photos of Saxon officiers who have been awarded with Albert order and with the St. Henry order but not with the merit order (In case of Prussia, during the WWI, an official awarded with the PLM, always has been decorated before with ek2, ek1 and HHO). Even the merit order has been awarded fewer times (during WWI) than the St. Henry: Merit order knigth 2nd class with swords: 1850 Merit order knigth first class with swords: 450 St. Henry Order (Knight): 2800 Which is the reason?, the merit order are awarded only for some specific merit? BR Enrique
    15. A MVO fourth class with crown and swords (Weiss & Co), gilded to make a third class (at least the center is in real gold). Weiss never did third class, only Leser and Hammerle And reload the pic of previous post (MVO 4th class pre-war)
    16. I read in several occasions, which in the 70, the market was flooded with falsifications of German orders, and I have some doubts about this: 1.- Are they quality copies?, is it difficult to differentiate an originial of a copy? 2.- Which were the falsified orders?, the Order of the Zähringen Lion is one of them? 3.- Has someone some pics of these fakes to compare? Regards Enrique
    17. If lemaitre stop to provide in 1913, who was the provider during the great war?
    18. Thank you for your reply. I would like to ask you till when Lemaitre was making these orders to the Greek government and if Lemaitre were the unique supplier during this period Regards Enrique
    19. A Signum Laudis (silberne militarverdienstmedaille) with greyhound head (silver .800) and maker mark (Josef Zimbler)

    21. Hello, I have this german veteran badge from some years and still I have not found out anything about it. By the colors...maybe a kriegerbund of Baden? I would be grateful for any information, supposition or conjecture.
    22. Avsar, Thanks for your excellent explanation Then the rosette, like in the French Legion of honor, creates two subclasses (knight, officier) within the Medjidie Order fourth class? Regards
    23. Thanks to all for your answers. Then, in short, this order has three silver purity marks Regards Enrique
