    1. Here is an Iraqi "IP" uniform. It is the type that was used in 2003 and possibly in use today. I sold this set to a collector in Australia but I thought the picture would go well here. Scott
    2. Hi Demir, great stuff on the Turkish Veterans! I think it is great to see them showing pride in their service. The U.S. Medal is the Bronze Star not the Silver Star. Your photo shows a Bronze Star with no device. If this is how it was issued, then it would be for meritorious service. It is also possible to have a "V" device for valor on this medal. Scott.
    3. We seem to revisit this question a lot. Attention to detail on the buttons will tell us what the uniform is for and the era as well. Scott.
    4. Lorenzo, take care. I would say stay safe but the President told me the war was over.

    5. Sounds like you guys should have spent a bit more time on the range Scott.
    6. Hi Bob, call me Captain Obvious, but it would seem that Special Forces and Thunders are one in the same and not different formations as previously thought. I would still have to wonder about paras though... Sometimes I see Special Forces used with the Eagle/Dragon symbol and other times I see Special Forces used with the Eagle/Parachute symbol, and it seems that just about everyone wears wings! I also see that many of the "Special Forces" units carry Republican Guard designations. It's all clear as mud to me . Scott.
    7. I can't say for sure but I have a couple of ideas. 1) Silver button maker vs. Bronze/Brass button maker. 2) Enlisted vs. Officer 3) Air Force or Police The problem is just a lack of definate information right now. Scott.
    8. Hi Lorenzo, something I have noticed over time that I thought I would share. If you look at the way these boards are sewn together, you can lay them flat and still see the bottom sticking out when looking down on them. If you look at a German made pair you will not see this. I took this a step further and looked at all of the sets that I found (not bought) in Iraq, and they did not stick out either. If you go to tridentmilitaria, you will see that all of the aftermarket "repro" sets, have seams that stick out when layed flat and viewed from above. It would seem that there is a bit of difficulty in getting someone to sew them together at the proper angle without showing the bottom seam. The Germans and the Iraqi's didn't seem to have this problem. So, I can't say for sure but I think that this is a sign of a repro made for souvenir purchases or for Trident etc... Like I said, this is just something I have noticed over time and a lot of observation. Maybe someday we will know for sure how to identify the Iraqi made ones from the vendor made ones. Scott.
    9. Additional view showing a very large hat Scott.
    10. Here is my display of a senior Sergeant in the Popular Army of Iraq. He wears the Popular Army camo and cap of Romanian style, although these were made in Iraq. The rank is an armband and the equipment is the pattern 58 style. Scott.
    11. Additional view showing the wings, beret and ranks. Scott
    12. I have finally tracked down a blue Iraqi Air Force service utility uniform. Shown here is my uniform with pin on pilot wings, and German made Flight Lieutenant ranks. He has a matching blue belt and holster. The beret is an Iraqi made model with the post 1991 badge. Scott.
    13. Simply amazing Will, I almost feel guilty at not having paid admission to view this fantastic collection! Scott.
    14. I wish I had a definate answer for you Paul. I saw mostly the sewn on variety in many different sizes and materials. That being said, I have made a conscious effort to find different varieties of the acrylic ones as well. I have red, red with white border, and red with gilt edge in metal for the pin on varieties. Hope this helps and thanks for the compliments. Scott.
    15. Thank you so much fir the translation Owain. I assumed that it was something along this line as it appears to be a stamp that is used multiple times on the backing. A notable officers name would have been nice, but I like it just the same. Thank you again, Scott.
    16. I will take a better picture another time, yes the triangle and the translation both say RG. I will post the translation with a better picture. Scott.
    17. My new Republican Guard Special Forces plaque from my friend Bob! I will get the translation and a better picture up soon. Scott.
    18. Here s the Iraqi copy of the British DPM camo from the 1990-91 Gulf War. This uniform is probably locally produced as it has the distinctive pen pocket on the sleeve. It has matching camo Captains boards, gold bordered RG sleeve triangles, the pin on pre 1991 breast flag, a hard missions badge, red RG qardoon and black enamel wings on the breast. I will get it all photographed on a mannequin when things slow down around here . Scott.
    19. Iraqi produced DPM from 1990-91 Gulf War. This is the pattern that caused England to have to change theirs. This uniform has matching camo Captain ranks, pin on gold bordered RG triangles, a pre 1991 pin on breast flag, black enameled wings, and a "hard missions" breast badge. Also the red qardoon for RG units. Scott.
    20. A Popular Army uniform from the 1980-88 War with Iran. Notice the double button pockets instead of the single button normally seen on Iraqi Army uniforms. Also from a Romanian contract. Scott.
    21. A Popular Army cap probably Romanian made.
    22. Here is a new arrival, an Iraqi Air Force Bravery Medal manufactured in Chile. Scott.
    23. A great place to PCS and it's much prettier than Iraq. Scott.
