    1. Hello to all, Here is one other bar that I purchased at the SOS this past weekend. I like it because of the RAD 4-Year Long Service Medal, which you don't see too often on medal bars. Best regards, Tom
    2. Hello to all, Here is a five-placer from the recent SOS. I bought this one because I like Third Reich Police bars and it is really clean, condition-wise. Best regards, Tom
    3. Hello to all, Here is a four-placer that I bought this weekend at the SOS. I was glad to add this one to my collection as you don't often see an order/decoration from Waldeck-Pyrmont on a medal bar. Hope you like it! Best regards, Tom
    4. Oops! Just now read the news from the forum chairman regarding the change in image uploads. Must remember to read first, then ask questions.
    5. Ulsterman and Claudius, Here are some pictures of the medal bar. Obviously, the 1939 EK2 and the Hannover Commemorative Medal for the Royal German Legion of Volunteers do not belong on this bar. Otherwise, the medal bar and ribbon bar do look legitimate. I see no traces of 1mm pink edges to the ribbon on the medal bar nor the ribbon bar. Keep in mind, though, that this bar is not mine so I don't have the benefit of having it in-hand. Based on the pictures, I find it hard to believe that this ribbon would have once had pink edges. I know that reds/pinks can fade out and even completely bleach out due to uv exposure, but I would think that there would be some pink still visible on the underside. Best regards, Tom (Sorry about the thumbnail images. I don't know why they posted like this, but if you click on them they will enlarge.)
    6. Hello Ulsterman, Thank you for also checking in the Bänderkatalog. But I don't understand what Prussian Red Cross Medal you are talking about. The ribbon for the Prussian Red Cross looks nothing like the ribbon in question. Best regards, Tom
    7. Hello Sascha, Thank you for checking that for me. I was afraid of that. I still need to get me a copy of that Bänderkatalog, though. I'm sure it is a very useful reference. Best regards, Tom
    8. Thanks for the responses, Sascha and Ulsterman. Does anyone have a copy of the Nimmergut Bänderkatalog? Maybe it would be shown in there? Best regards, Tom
    9. Thanks for the response, Wild Card! I agree that something "Hohenzollern" is a possibility here, but what???? Best regards, Tom
    10. Hi guys, I'm trying to find out for another collector what the last ribbon on this ribbon bar is for. This ribbon totally eludes me. I'm thinking that it is for some unofficial Prussian WW1 commemorative or veteran association award of the Weimar Period. Thank you for any and all assistance. Best regards, Tom
    11. Hi Robert, It sounds like that guy had a great collection of badges. I'm glad you were able to scoop up a nice clasp for yourself before everything was sold. Best regards, Tom
    12. Yahoo! Thank you for sharing all of this information from his service record, Dave. Did you locate this personnel file at the US Archives? How cool that he was also awarded the 1914 EK1 and 1914 Black Wound Badge. The info on his subsequent awards is great too. I figured that he was a shoe-in for the 1939 KVK2X but probably nothing else, assuming that he retired sometime in 1942. It is great to know that he was also awarded the Westwall Medal and the 1939 KVK1X and, most likely, stayed in service to the end of the war. I sincerely thank you and I owe you a great debt of gratitude for your willingness to share this information. You da man! Best regards, Tom
    13. Hi Robert, Yes, it's a "gem" for sure. I stumbled onto an excellent condition Silver FLL CCC with crimped hinge & catch, about a month ago at the O.V.M.S. Show in Wilmington. I bought it for cheap and sold it within five minutes of buying it, It was really nice! I should have kept it. Best regards, Tom
    14. Hello guys, Thanks to the incredible researching work of of Paul Chepurko, and with confirmation by Rick Lundström, this medal bar was identified as having belonged to Oberst Rudolf. He was an Ordnance Officer and appears in the 1924 Reichsheer Ranklist with the rank of Oberleutnant. In the 1939 Ranklist he is an Oberst and then he is no longer listed in the 1943 Ranklist. The assumption is that he may have retired sometime in 1942, due to age or ill-health. With some additional research, some more details may surface, such as his first name and any subsequent awards that he earned in WW2. I am also looking forward to receiving a copy of Paul's reprint of the 1924 Reichsheer Ranklist. I am very grateful for Paul's hard work and, once again, I owe another debt of gratitude to Rick. Best regards, Tom
    15. Hello Robert, A very nice clasp with a great-looking finish. Congratulations! Best regards, Tom
