    2. please be careful same web site : TWM 280556239298 and CRETE MEDAL 280556245966
    3. Selamlar, Elbette Harp Madalyasinin (Canakkale Madalyasi ) üstündeki mahlas "El Gazi". Ben hiçbir yerde Resad demedim. Lutfen daha once burada yazdigim su yaziyi okuyunuz : http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=40119&st=40 Ayrica ayni bolumde 19 ekim 2009 da yazdigim yazida da " Tugra'daki Resad ile Turk Harp Madayasi'ndaki "El Gazi" arasindaki fark" diye belirtmistim. Yine de bilgi icin tesekkurler. demir Hi, Of course the mahlas on the TWM is El Gazi. I did not say it is Resad anywhere. Please read my threads : http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=40119&st=40 Please also see in the same page a thread Posted by me on 19 October 2009 - 00:06 says: "THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE "RESAD" IN THE TUGRA AND "EL GAZI" ON TWM (Turkish War Medal)." TWM Prices?

Hi, You are wrong, you can buy and sell as a private seller. Please check this items (the TWM medal which is in question-380241636240) bidders, you will see a person which has private sign by his coded name. On the other hand, nobody (and I do not) wants to see what you are buying and selling, if you want to be secretive then from now on you will know that GMIC members will be more cautious about these kind of private sellers. (And I know that you are not a private seller !) What we are trying to do in this forum is to warn our fellow members and no to get into an argument with them. demir

      TWM Prices?

I am also very suspicious about the sellers who are "private". One can not see what they sold or buy. Why PRIVATE? Why not open to evrybody? Suspicious. But the company is getting better and accepted my argument in two cases and refunded the money paid.(Although the seller did not accept). I suggest everybody be cautious about the Private sellers. demir

      TWM Prices?

Hello Alex, I suggest Mr. Avsar Ibar (GMIC Member), who has a nice medal shop in the Covered Bazaar. I called him and told him to get in touch with you. While you are in Turkey if you have time, try to see Canakkale (Gallipoli). Best wihes Demir
    8. Hi Kiwi, It is Ok. Usually there is no problem with the English issues. This one is an old issue, there are new ones but you can understand them easily. For the new issues please see my thread: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=31830 (I visited NZ 3 times, I hired a car once and travel from Auckland to Christchurch. Lovely country, very nice people.) Regards Demir Erman

      TWM Prices?

Hi, For me even the condition is not good enough. The top three bidders are always bidding very high especially the second bidder. The buyer is a new comer and collecting and artificially increasing prices. The third bidder is a dealer from the USA.
    10. Yes, you are correct about mcstls . Also beware of jb_militaria he sales fake Turkish UN Korean war medal (eby item no:300407866228).
    11. Hello Murat, As Avsar said we can not be sure from a picture but from the seal at reverse I think it is made by a jeweller named Halley. One can see other foreign mades. I think the expert on this subject is Mr. Tim Tezer who is a member and has written an article about Mecidis (although this an Osmani) in JOMSA Vol.55 March/April 2004 Number 2. Regards Demir
    12. Thanks Avsar, I am trying my best to stop fake medal dealers. Regards Demir Erman

    15. Hi, A beautiful Osmani 4th Class with a box and the Ottoman Certficate and an official letter from the Naval Attache of the German Embassy in Istanbul is a gem hard to reach. Congragulations on finding and buying it. I am jealous. The date on the German document 15.Dezember.1332 is according to the Ottoman Rumi Calendar and it means 28 December 1916 as stated. Best wishes demir erman
    16. Hello, Here is how to recognize the original UN authorized UN Korean War Medals comparing with the others: 1. The size of the medal is smaller in the original. 2. The top leaf of the wreath surrounding the world is long in the original. 3. The leaves of the wreath are more closer to each other in the original 3. the space between Europe and Noth America is narrower in the original 4. Australia is thicker and bigger in the original 5. New Zealand (top right side of 12.00 o'clock) is thicker in the original 6. In the original the bar with a handle under the script Korea holding the medal is narrower in general and thinner at the ends and in it is not as wide as the others. 7. Reverse of the same bar in the middle where the hand holds the medal there is a small mound. A line passes through this mound is thinner and the mounds size is bigger than the bar in the original. 8. More space between the script and the edge in the original Spanish one. There are more in the world map but the wreath is enough to easily recognize the unofficial ones. The pin is not important original might be lost with the original ibbon. I checked the other language UN Korean war medals (except Italian) and they are all same. I am posting the pictures of Original UN made Spanish Korean War Medal and comparing it with another Spanish version. Also an original Turkish medal to show the same print and style with the original Spanish one. Best wishes DEMIR The original Spanish Medal on the left. Original Turkish medal at the bottom.
    17. It is not but be careful with this site. demir

    19. The pictures of "S Type" Type A on the right side (pressed) and Type B Buckles from my collection:
    20. Dear Ottoman Militaria Collector Friends, I would like to share my information about the Ottoman Army belt buckles. OTTOMAN BELT BUCKLES DURING WW1 During the WW1 the Ottoman Army used M1909 belt buckle which was originated from German M1895, produced of brass (Type A) (pressed to obtain the obverse figure) or brass with an attached nickel-silver front plate (Type B). The buckle is 45 mm. (app. 1 ¾ inches). On the buckle there is a star and crescent with the Ottoman script "Asakir-i Sahane" (Asakry Shahanah) (Sultans Army-Ottoman Army) on it. Now, if you have seen or have several Ottoman Army belt buckles you may have noticed that there are two types of script. The text on the right side of the crescent may differ. Although, the meaning is same "Asakir-i Sahane", the style is different. Please check the pictures below. As you see the bottom buckle has a big stretched "S" type figure (type S) while the one on the top has a "SL" style figure (SL type). Sincerely I don't know which one is earlier made. The pictures of "S type", Type A and B are from my collection. Best wishes Demir Erman Type "SL" and Type "S"
