    1. Hi Lorin, LOL, I generally forget what I have as well. Do you have any info on the provenance of that bar? Here is a Wagner RAO2 on a piece of cut up sash from a RAO GC.
    2. Wow, that is a beauty. Regarding the Frack, these triangular Saxon mounts were usually worn on an angle, otherwise it looks pretty weird. Here is some Wuerttemberg action.
    3. You're right Dave, and it's a silver version for sure on the bar, with no evidence of removal. Eckstein was also a recipient of the Wuerttemberg Military Merit Order. Here is a high quality Spangenstueck produced by Godet with very nice enamel.
    4. You're right Rick, but as we know, the Germans played it fast and loose with precedence. This bar has been much discussed over the years, and I believe originally came from the Seymour collection. Here is a cool one, PKO2 with the 60 year jubilee device, awarded about 24 times if I remember correctly.
    5. That is a really nice set of oakleaves. Here is an 'enamel-heavy' medal bar which belonged to the aviator, Leutnant Otto Eckstein.
    6. Very interesting. I wonder if the GC of the EK that Friedrich III is shown holding was an actual period piece? Of course they got some details wrong, such as showing EK2's from 1870 being worn before the war took place. I also like the looks of the RAO with brilliants that Bismarck is usually wearing.
    7. Thanks gentlemen, I'm guessing that Forman acquired these items from Huis Doorn?
    8. I'm rewatchting a favourite TV series from when I was a kid, Fall of Eagles. I knew that Adrian Forman loaned many orders for the filming, but does anyone know what happened to his collection over the years?
    9. Without better images it's hard to pass judgement, but I'm highly sceptical that any of that material came from Udet.
    10. I had a look at that one, overpriced, as usual. I think it's OK, you should see the precedence on my uncle's Feldschnallen, they would probably be dismissed as fakes today.
    11. I agree, the Weitze piece is much higher quality. Unfortunately he doesn't state what this was awarded for. OK, just read the statutes, it was awarded for services to the memory of Saxon culture and the army, and was open to citizens of the Koenigreich as well as the Herzogtuemer.
    12. Hmmm, interesting, never heard of it. What are the prerequisites for bestowal?
    13. I hope it hasn't been glued in. And you'd have to pry open the insert, weird.
    14. The price on the KO2 is in the ballpark, but what happened to the inside of the case lid?
    15. Agreed, although for that money I would expect at least one scarce award on the bar.
    16. I had a good look at that HOH, keep in mind it is an Inhaber-Kreuz, so technically not an order.
