    1. -Claudius: You are very welcome. This group is my favourite out of all the medal and ribbon bars I am lucky to own.

I have seen that 4-place medal bar before. With the exception of perhaps period photographs, it, and the bar I own, are the only two I have ever seen with the White Elephant Order. Perhaps more will appear in time.

-Chris: This is understandable. ;) I, for one, look forward to seeing your new acquisition once it arrives.

      Kind regards

      Pierce

    2. White elephant? That is a great one on a medal bar! I saw one before. Maybe it was yours? Nice. Can you post it?

One of the most interesting I saw several years ago was a China Warlord medal on a bar. It was an auction and I was the short bidder :banger:

      :Cat-Scratch: @Chris...can you give us a hint?

Certainly Claudius- here it is! Yes, it is the Order of the White Elephant, 5th Class. Also, the Belgium Order of Leopold II, 5th Class.

Is this the bar you saw before?

      Kind regards

      Pierce

    3. @Mikko, what a truly impressive medal bar!! :)

@Christer, regarding WW2 presentations, let us not forget the Reichsmarschall ;) although he was awarded the Order of Liberty in 1942.

    7. Dear Gentlemen,

I have been collecting ribbon bars for a number of years now and hope to show you some of the more unusual/unique pieces in my collection over the coming months.

This is a piece I bought within my first year of ribbon bar collecting and I have been wondering, why so many Austrian decorations? With the repetition clasp I count at least five.

I would like to hear your thoughts on this ribbon bar and what type of officer it could have belonged to. I am thinking someone with very strong links with an Austrian regiment maybe?

      Many thanks

      Pierce

    8. Gentlemen,

Does anyone know the specific award criteria with regard to rank for the Italian Order of the Crown?

For example, I would assume the Grand Cross would be awarded to those with rank of no less than General (?), and so on.

I have a few German ribbon bars with various grades represented and would just like to work out the rank of the officers that wore them.

      Many thanks
      Pierce
