Dear P.F.
Yes, it looks like a device for 50 years, which he didn' t have, nor do I think the medalbar belonged to him. Although the combination is the same as the one on the picture, there is a clear difference in ribbonfolds and space between the medals. I highly doubt it's his bar.
Kind regards, Laurentius
I have similar suspicions. This bar and the one in the photo are definitely two different medal bars.
This is supposedly Looff's medal bar.

Does the Crown Order on this medal bar have the 50 year device?

Sorry, this is the only photo I have. Maybe you can try and zoom in?
I was told it could be the Commander Class, since Borne was a Vizeadmiral?
Depends when he was awarded it and his rank at that time.

Here’s another ribbon bar. It’s named to Reinhard Thaler, 1871-1938;
1914 Captain Telegraphen Btl 6
0000-0000 Commander of the Signal Troops at Great Headquarter of the German Army
would like more details. I wonder if he was awarded any Prussian orders in WW1.
Here is his entry in the 1926 Honour Rank List (Oberstleutnant a.D.)

Gentlemen,
Does any have a list, or know where I can acquire on, of German diplomats assigned to their Embassy in London, England in 1937?
Regards,
Gordon
Gordon,
You have been given very good suggestions above. I have one more, though it may not give you a conclusive list. If you can, check the medal rolls of the George VI Coronation Medal.

Indeed, although the interwar Reichsheer lists shows him with swords to this award. Perhaps a mistake?

Glenn
I checked the 1925 & 1929- both say the same thing, Albert Order with Swords. However, based on the photographic evidence this must be a mistake.
Everything else seems to match up.

In 1900 and 03 he was at the artillery depot in Fürth. His swords and crown were from WWI, October 9, 1916.
I am referring to the 9th ribbon (without swords). I would expect this to be listed in the 1914 Bavarian Rank List, and it is not.

Any record of Pöllmann having the Bavarian Military Merit Order without Swords (pre-war)? It's not listed in the 1914 Rank List.

Looks like a nice genuine Godet made bar. Devices and ribbons are good with consistent wear. Precedence of ribbons is also correct for a post Anschluss made bar.

BTW, I'm not after his very late medal bar, already posted in this forum here:
I believe that medal bar belonged to his son, Dr. Hans Georg von Mackensen.

Peter,
Thank you for your reply.
Were veterans entitled to such medals or the various jubilee medals, or had you to be serving at the time of issue?
Many thanks

Hi,
I just wondered if the Award Rolls are available for the Defence Medal. I had a relative who served in WW1 but not sure if he played any part in WW2. He would have been in his later 50s into early 60s at the time of WW2.
Any help with this query would be very much appreciated.
Kind regards,

A very interesting ribbon bar. Congratulations.

Dear Friends,
A collector in the US has sent me this document in the hope of finding out about more about what it says. It relates to a Kriegsmarine engineer who has transferred back to civilian service with the Reichsbahn.
I believe it mentions him being confined to barracks for 3 days (Stubenarrest?). Does it state the reason?
Any help that can be offered with this would be appreciated.
Many thanks

Thanks for sharing. I assume these will only be issued to those in attendance?
