Hi Tony,
Here is the front. I think Werner von Blomberg is wearing the 1937 Reichsparteitag Badge here.

Gentlemen,
Recently I was reading about the Chinese visit to Germany in 1937.The Chinese Finance Minister Kung arrived in Berlin on 9 June 1937.
He visited Hermann Goring on 11 June, Hitler on 13 June and also Generalfeldmarschall Werner von Blomberg that afternoon.
Here in Generalfeldmarschall Wilhelm Keitel’s memoirs (English Translation) he notes that a “high Chinese Medal†was bestowed on von Blomberg.
I am assuming Herman Goring was given an award also.
Are there any award rolls or record of what this award might have been?
I look forward to any help you can offer, regarding this query.
Many thanks

It looks like the Swedish Order of the Sword.

A number of posts have been deleted from this thread.
Why is that?

Paddywhack, you are a gentleman. Thank you so much for obtaining this information for me.
What does "U.K. 1.5" mean?
Do any of the other future Generalfeldmarschalls appear on the roles?
Best regards

Gentlemen,
Over the weekend I was reading that German Generalfeldmarschall Werner von Blomberg represented Hitler at King George VI Coronation in May 1937.
Is there any record of von Blomberg being given the Coronation Commemorative Medal? To me it seems possible, as he was representing a foreign Head of State, but I thought I would ask the collectors in this field for their opinions.
I look forward to any help you can offer, regarding this query.
Many thanks

Here is a photo of the medal.

That makes sense. It is interesting that this medal is not easy to find with a ribbon, on a regular 'Google' search.
Here you go!

Yes the lack of enamel on the Wedding Medal is strange but I think it has that in other, later photographs.
I am thinking the last medal is the Queen Victoria Jubilee Medal (1887). What do others think?

It seems that Wilhelm II was not entitled to the 1870 Commemorative Medal, non-combatant or otherwise I guess? But if given permission to wear the 1863 Napoleonic Wars Commemorative Medal, by Kaiser Wilhelm I, then who could argue.
This photo may help with our discussion, regarding the actual medals worn here. Is No. 4 the 1863 Napoleonic Wars Commemorative Medal?

No. 6 is definitely not the Centenary Medal. Those photos are circa 1888, before the Centenary Medal was created (1897).
Here is what I think the medals could be:
1. Red Eagle 3rd, w/o swords
2. Crown Order 3rd, w/o swords
3. Hohenzollern Houshold Order 3rd w/o swords
4. Hohenzollern Commemorative Medal/Prussian Regimental Medal???
5. Golden Wedding Medal, Wilhelm I
6. English Queen Victoria Jubilee Medal (1887)???

Did Hermann Goring receive the 3 x NSDAP Long Service Decorations? They never seem to make the list, but surely he was entitled to them.
Thanks

I agree, that medal would not have been appropriate but I wonder would he have had something relating to his father's wedding anniversary? He wears the golden wedding anniversary medal of his grandfather (Wilhelm I) AFTER this mystery medal so perhaps not, but it is something commemorative I believe and I am almost certain the ribbon is Hohenzollern.
Anyone have an idea what it might be?

Here is a portrait and also a photograph of the Kaiser circa 1888.
The fourth medal appears to be on the Hohenzollern House ribbon. What would that be? Something commemorative?

The ribbon bar in the photo is as follows:

Dear Andreas,
The Yugoslavian Crown Order ribbon is plain blue.
I would say this ribbon represents the Romanian Order of the Crown.
Kind regards

Hi Alan,
This ribbon is possibly for a post-war Austrian veteran medal. Here are some examples on this one ribbon bar I have.
Kind regards

A very interesting topic and some wonderful photos of this Order.
It got me thinking- does anyone know if the Kaiser was awarded the Order of the Double Dragon? Perhaps Prince Chun brought one when he visited the Kaiser? My thanks

HELP- The Complete Blue Max by Kevin Brazier
in Germany: Imperial: The Orders, Decorations and Medals of The Imperial German States
Posted
Gentlemen,
Not a book recommendation but a request for assistance.
Does anyone have a copy of The Complete Blue Max by Kevin Brazier?
If so I would appreciate a PM. I would like to check something in relation to two of the Pour le Mérite recipients that should be mentioned in the book.
Many thanks
