I think this is a very good match to my ribbon bar. no device on the olympic decoration and the 12yr eagle is slightly lower than the 25yr...just like mine! what do the rest of you think?
thanks

Hi Luftkrieg,
beautiful bars... the wearer of your first bar may be
Dr. Wolfgang Schmidt
Olympia 2. Stufe 15.01.1937 as OSA or
General von Bernuth
Olympia 2. Stufe 15.01.1937 as M
both in the Weimar ranklist with EK 1, EK 2, HssAET and black wound badge.
Schmidt was found in the 1939 ranklist as Feldgeneralarzt. Keilig listed an Schmidt-Hofmann of the austrian army as Generalarzt. von Bernuth got the knight cross of the iron cross.
Hi Rick - " roll of Olympics Decorations 2nd Class" do you mean????
Werner
Hi Werner,
Can you post this info i.e. the roles with their names??
Are there any pics of either of them?
Thanks

Dear Pierce,
Marvellous bars! Are they in your collection?
Btw the medal bar with the Olympia Ehrenzeichen is quite something. These are quite rare to be found mounted on a parade medal bar, since I guess most of them were awarded to Civilians and Gold Pheasants of the party.
I have also found on a book I have in my library (Ehrenzeichen des Herzogsgutm Sachsen-Altenburg, Dekorationen des Herzoglich Sachsen Ernestinischen Hausorden 1814-1918) a great medal bar (see attachment), unfortunately also unnamed.
Ciao,
Claudio
Hi Claudio,
Yes these are now both in my collection! Thanks for the scan, thats a real beaut! With so many awards on it, how can it not be Ided?

As for the Bavarian-- PLEASE slip all those flopping around rings back under the edges of the ribbons where they belong before all that enamel gets dashed off swinging around.
This is how it came, but i will get right on to it Rick!

Yeh definately is, thanks. I can find no record/picture of him, wearing the EK2 spange....
Hi. I do not believe he had teh EK Spange. I have seen a pic of his medal bar etc...no spange on it, no pics of him wearing the spange.
Best regards

Has there ever been a definitive list of all his awards? Am I right in thinking that he used to have a huge cabinet at his residence for all his awards?
I'd imagine what with the sheer amount of both German & foreign awards he received throughout his life there must be quite a bit of confusion about just exactly what did he have (or not have).
There is no definate list of awards unfortunatly. He did receive many more than what were on the ribbon bar.

Goring and his awards is something i have researched for a good many years....I have always had my doubts about this medal bar in the RAF museum ....the Flower War medals were the thing. I have seen a pic of him wearing a similar medal bar but with no Flower War medals. Here is the pic. I can see the following: EK, HHOX, Friedrich Order, Zah. Lion with Oaks, HCX, DA25, DA18, possibly West Wall/Anschluss medal, Luftshutz 1st Kl, Bulgarian War Medal.
The ribbon bar pictured above does look to the same as the one he wore. What are the awards on the 2nd row?
1. Bulgarian Order of St. Alexander?
2. Italian Order of SS. Maurice + Lazarus?
3. Danish Order of Dannebrog?
4. Turkish War Medal/Italian Order of the Crown/Croation Order of King Zvonimir?
5. Bulgarian Order of Civil Merit?
6. Bulgarian Order of Military Merit/Bulgarian Order of Bravery/Romanian Order of Aeronautical Virtue?
7. Finnish Order of the White Rose?
8. Swedish Order of the Sword?
9. Italian Order of the Roman Eagle?
10. Japanese Order of the Rising Sun?
11. Spanish Order of the Yolk and Arrows?
Best regards

And this is my reconstruction...
I couldn't find the pics for the crown of the SEHO and the device for the Volkspflege-Ehrenzeichen... ;-)
Hi all. I studied Milch and his awards earlier this year, some of us are unsure if he wore the 25+12yr long service combo or the 18+4yr combo....he definately was not entitled to the 25yr cross as far as i can remember.
Best regards

Hi. Attached is my latest acquisition, the medal and ribbon bars of Vizeadmiral Werner Grassmann. Does anyone know how this bar was originally identified? Did he have any other awards or decorations? I refer to neck orders etc?
Thanks
Pierce

Hi Timo,
The 2 middle ribbons on the 4-place are fire service decorations, possibly 1st and 2nd class. The last ribbon i think is something Italian.
The 3-place is unusual, 1 German Political award and 2 Spansih awards, both for Civial War Service. This ribbon bar could be a pre-Sept 1939 bar, belonging to someone who fought in the Spanish Civil War, whilst participating in some shape or form in the 1936 Olympics.
