Amazing! I wonder when was he awarded with the Serbian Order of the White Eagle.
Online sources state 06.07.1939, probably around the time Prince Paul of Yugoslavia visited Berlin.

The Pour le Mérite was awarded to Leutnants and up.

I was just comparing the sizes!! Great minds.
Is there an award date for the one pictured above? Could one be awarded by the Spanish Royals and the other by Franco? The one in the first photo looks smaller.

No way to confirm this unknown star as the photo does not give much to go on.
It could be the Spanish Order of Military Merit in Red, given what is represented on his ribbon bar, but the ribbon bar does not confirm the grade of award. Given this though, it is probably a more plausible theory than a higher grade of the Naval Merit Order which is not impossible but less likely.
Another alternative is a foreign order unaccounted for/unknown thus far. For example, if it weren't for this photo above we would not know he was awarded the Croatian Order of King Zvonimir. It's not represented on his ribbon bar.

Sovereign Military Order of Malta, Knight of Honour and Devotion (possibly Bailiff Grand Cross, given the size)
The Equestrian of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, Knight Grand Cross
He was certainly Roman Catholic. Also a member of the aristocracy given the grade of the Order of Malta.0 -
Dear all,
Does anyone know where I could obtain 16mm wide UK Order of Merit ribbon (military type)? It would be a miniature type ribbon I am looking for. Many thanks,

Thank you for clarification.

In Thailand the commemorative medals like this can be worn by any government employees. It dosent mather if they attend or not. But only Thai citizens can wear it. Very seldom any forigners get issued this type of medals. I know only of one. Princess Ubol Ratana married Peter Ladd Jensen, American, and he got some commemorative medal.
Many thanks for clarification.

Thanks for sharing. I assume these will only be issued to those in attendance?

Dear P.F.
Yes, it looks like a device for 50 years, which he didn' t have, nor do I think the medalbar belonged to him. Although the combination is the same as the one on the picture, there is a clear difference in ribbonfolds and space between the medals. I highly doubt it's his bar.
Kind regards, Laurentius
I have similar suspicions. This bar and the one in the photo are definitely two different medal bars.
This is supposedly Looff's medal bar.

Does the Crown Order on this medal bar have the 50 year device?

Sorry, this is the only photo I have. Maybe you can try and zoom in?
I was told it could be the Commander Class, since Borne was a Vizeadmiral?
Depends when he was awarded it and his rank at that time.

Here’s another ribbon bar. It’s named to Reinhard Thaler, 1871-1938;
1914 Captain Telegraphen Btl 6
0000-0000 Commander of the Signal Troops at Great Headquarter of the German Army
would like more details. I wonder if he was awarded any Prussian orders in WW1.
Here is his entry in the 1926 Honour Rank List (Oberstleutnant a.D.)

Gentlemen,
Does any have a list, or know where I can acquire on, of German diplomats assigned to their Embassy in London, England in 1937?
Regards,
Gordon
Gordon,
You have been given very good suggestions above. I have one more, though it may not give you a conclusive list. If you can, check the medal rolls of the George VI Coronation Medal.

Indeed, although the interwar Reichsheer lists shows him with swords to this award. Perhaps a mistake?

Glenn
I checked the 1925 & 1929- both say the same thing, Albert Order with Swords. However, based on the photographic evidence this must be a mistake.
Everything else seems to match up.
