The Princely Hohenzollern grades were a bit different than the usual setup. The pinback cross, usually an Officer's Cross in many orders, is actually the 1st Class for this Order. It grades below the Grand Cross but above the Commander's Cross. It was awarded 561 times from 1852 to 1965.
Thank you for your reply.
Would this grading system have remained the same during the post-war Doorn years?
Kind regards

Gentlemen,
I would appreciate some help regarding the grade of this Princely Hohenzollern House Order.
Is it Commander Grade by any chance (worn on/below the left breast pocket)?
My thanks

Great looking medal bar. I really like the 1934 German Red Cross.

Many thanks for the link. I have seen that topic, and read many others. There is no truly complete list out there in my opinion but it is something I am personally working on continuously. The ribbon is as I originally posted. The red stripe you see belongs to the next ribbon (white with thin red edges). It's not a great photo I posted, at an angle like that.
The Yugoslavian Order of the White eagle uses a red and blue and/or white ribbon- the ribbon in question is certainly more burgundy/maroon. Here is a straight on shot of the ribbon. The resolution is poor but you should be able to make out the colour and make-up as described.
The mystery ribbon does not fit anything I have come across for Goring. It is hard, I think, to even begin to pinpoint a country, as he collected so many decorations from all over the world. That's why I had hoped someone would recognise this ribbon.
My own first thought was the San Marino Order of St. Agatha. It's close- but then it has a yellow stripe at the edge, and this ribbon does not, but maybe this ribbon could be something out of the ordinary like that.' alt='' class='ipsImage' >

Thank you for posting IrishGunner. I posted it here as it may be a European award. I have looked through a number of reference books and websites but cannot locate an exact match.
The only other information I can supply is that it is:-On a German ribbon bar (Hermann Goring);
-A foreign award, most likely presented to Goring in the 1930s;
-The colour is burgundy/maroon with white edges (NOT red).
-It most likely represents some sort of Grand Cross, but of what country or medal order I have no clue.
Many thanks

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your reply. I do not think it is British. It is a medal order of some sort that has grades such as Grand Cross etc.
Thanks

Gentlemen,
This is a mock-up of an unknown ribbon to me. Does anyone recognise which medal/order this represents? The ribbon appears to be a burgundy/maroon colour, with white edges.
Many thanks

Is there any record of Wilhelm II armed service rank promotions?

Dear Friends,
Any idea if this is a Reichsparteitag Badge? If so, what year?
Best wishes

Pierce.
The evening dress TK badge was just a variation designed specifically for that particular piece of uniform.
No special meaning.
These are very rare and have been heavily faked.
Robin
Thank you for posting and for clearing this up. You have answered my query perfectly.

Thank you for the informative, and amusing replies gents!
So was this an actual award? If so, what for?
Thanks

Yes all grades with swords are extremely rare. For example the third class was awarded 18 times while the 2nd class (neck badge + star) was awarded 25 times. So no more then 43 neck crosses were given out.
Thank you again utopis, and thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have learnt something new today.

Yes, but these are extremely rare. There was even a collar badge with swords.
Thank you for your prompt reply.
Are all grades "with swords" uncommon? I have seen a few WW2 German Generals wearing this decoration with swords (Commander Grade).

Gentlemen,
Just a quick question regarding the Finnish Order of the White Rose.
I have seen lower grades of the Order with swords running diagonally through the cross, but wondered if the GRAND CROSS came with swords? I cannot find any photos, just images of the Grand Cross without swords.
Thank you

Gentlemen,
What is the correct name for this SS device worn on the right hand side of the tunic?
What was the purpose of it?
Thank you

Hello Pierce,
in Germany we call it 1. model, he wasn´t in Spain otherwise there should
be some spanish decorations on his medal bar.
Kind regards
Andreas
Andreas,
Thanks for this info. Good to know. I had seen this type posted as "SCW type", issued from 1936.

The images are really bad but I would appreciate the collectors here having a look. Does anyone recognise this Freikorps Certificate?
Thank you
