    1. I'm no expert, but the loop is very crude, the red star looks to small, lacks of details on the Kremlin tower, enamel looks cheap. The whole thing is very crude.
    2. Did somebody already researched an Order of October Revolution? I was wondering if we can find something interesting while researching them.
    3. It's funny that almost all the members who participated to this thread are also members of Soviet-Awards forum.
    4. Like Dudeman says it is your choice, but if it was mine I would also leave it like this. I would never alter any of my medals only to do research. I have 2 Yugoslavian awards that were converted to a pinback and I would prefer to leave them as they are. I guess I'm a purist.
    5. A cavalier set for sale on a dealer site. That is very nice!
    6. Oh well, I couldn't get better pictures than that. The seller is not specialized in Soviet awards.
    7. I've only ask additional pictures of the ORB. I'm still waiting. I'll post them here when (or if) I get them.
    8. Very interesting helmet Kim. I have never seen an insignia painted like this.
    9. And here a Red Banner cased order from the same seller. I'll ask for better scans for this one. Numbered 27,886
    10. I do not have better pics from the seller, but could this be a real cased Order of Glory 2nd Class with that one. Seller is asking $2,899. Not for me yet. By the way, it look like a Yugoslavian award case.
    11. Damn, I was too late to buy this Order of Lenin. I should have sold my Faberg? egg to back my purchase. By the way vatjan the pictures are still on-line, but the link is not there anymore. Here is the back for you. By the way Ed_Haynes, Igor has no problem we post pictures from his website as long as we keep the "Atlantic Crossroads Inc." logo on the picture. You can ask him, he will answer you the same thing.
    12. I don't want to contradict you, but the enamel is also real on the fake one, as it must come from a later variation.
    13. And finally a genuine SSh-39 with the Red Star on the front. I like it very much.
    14. Here is my other SSh-36. The helmet is not complete. There is missing a part of the chinstrap and 2 prongs that retains the liner are not there any more, so the liner is a bit loose. It stills displays nice until I get my hand on a text book example.
    15. As resquested. Here is my SSh-36 relic helmet. This one come straight from Russia and comes from the Demjansk region. It's not in so good condition as you can see.
    16. Yes it is M. Shpagin Here are some information about him on this website : http://www.ppsh41.com/GS.htm Up to you again chuck to ask a question. Bravo!
    17. No. Here is almost the answer. He has something to do with these.
