The Medal for Act of Courage & Devotion in Silver-Gilt ( ie the 2nd Class ), is awarded to those who have saved a life, or who attempted to save a life, by risking their own life (or to those who already hold the Medal of Courage & Devotion in Silver, for a subsequent action of life saving). The Act of Courage performed by Armand Trausch, happened on Monday 10 December 2018, in the village of Redange-Sur-Attert. There were flood on the river Attert, and temperature was close to 0 degree celcius. The Medal for Act of Courage & Devotion in Silver (ie the 3rd Class), is awarded to those who have saved a life, or who attempted to save a life, by showing courage in action, and selflessness. The Act of Courage performed by Ahmed Alabdulmoshen occured on Sunday 23 June 2019, the Day of the National Day in Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (the equivalent of the 4th of July for the American ). That day, in 2019, it was very hot. Over 30 Degree Celsuis. The place where it happened is Lake Stausee - Lac de la Haute-Sûre, it's a 380 Ha artificial lake in Luxembourg. As the water temperature shall have been about 10 to 15 celcius degree that day, with no stream in the water, that may explain, why Mr Alabdulmoshen get the Medal for Act of Courage in Silver ( ie 3rd Class ) https://today.rtl.lu/news/luxembourg/a/1366685.html Regards to all. Armand Trausch : Medaille de Vermeil ( silver gilt medal ), for in December 2018, during the flood that hit Grand Duchy, having jump into the water to rescue his father Gregoire Trausch, 79 years old, that had fell into the water, and that his life was in great danger. Likely the award should have been announced on 25 September 2020, but presented on 30 September. ( ie 25 September refers to 25 September 1964 the start of their Liberation War ). Here is a very interesting reference about an award of Medal Nachingwea, to Mrs Maria Ester Gonçalves Alves Machado Ribeiro. It seems that this medal ( which is of Type 1 : ie the medal still exist, as it was awarded in 2019, but all recent Mozambique Awards seems to have the same National Color Rectangular Ribbon : Green White Black Yellow White Red, hold on a metallic backplate ). So I can only assume that this beautifull and never seen before Medal of Nachingwea (on soviet style pentagonal ribbon ), is not any more awarded on that shape. The Nachingwea Medal, which is a Medal for Merit related to Cultural Sphere seems to have been awarded by Resoluçao 13/89 on 22 September 1989, to Mrs Machado Ribeiro, but the medal was only presented her on September 1993. Hello Gentlemen, Here I can show 2 photo, of the Philippines Police Medal of Valor, Type 1 at left, and Type 2 ( current type ), at right. On its current form, The Philippines Police Medal of Valor ( Medalya ng Kagitingan ) was instituted on 23 September 1993; for Conspicuous Gallantry and Intrepidity at risk of life, and limb above and beyond the call of duty. There had been an amendement of the regulation of this Award, on 10 July & 30 November 2006, then again on 27 October 2010. In order to justify this award, a member of the PNP ( Philippines Police ), must perform in action, a deed of personal bravery and self sacrifice above and beyond the call of duty, so conspicuous, as to distinguish himself clearly above his comrades, in the performance of more than ordinary hazardous service. In case of actual combat with armed enemies, the award may be given, only if the enemy force is so overwhelming as compared to the government troops. The President of the Philippines approves the Award. The Award can be awarded posthumously. The Philippines Police Medal of Valor entitles the widower and/or dependents of the awardee to a lifetime monthly gratuity, and precedence in employment in National Government Agencies ( NGAs ), or Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations ( GOCCs ) among other benefits. I took here the opportunity to show a much earlier exemple of Order Jose Delgado award document : Gran Cruz de Plata, to Gregorio López Bravo, who in 1971 was Minister of Foreign Relation of Spain. Much later, Gregorio López. Bravo was killed in an airline crash in Bilbao in 1985. I took the occasion to thanks Ilja and others contributors for the amazing photo they share along the years. Hello Gentlemen, Hello Rusty, This is what looks like an Order of Jamaica. The badge of the Order is worn from a plain green neck ribbon, and a sash is worn over the shoulder, but unlike the european Order, there is no hook to hold the sash badge on the sash. As the Sash of the Order is just one of the accessory of the award ( It being the Badge, the Sash, the Neck Ribbon, the Miniature ). Only for "display purpose", I choosed to present a photo, with the badge of the Order, as it would be look, if hung from the sash. But NEVER in any Jamaica award ceremony you will see a badge of the Order hung from a Sash !!!!!!!! Reverse of mine is plain, because it's an un-issued one. On his 3rd row of medals (at left hand side). My opinion, is that General Kangnaja is wearing the Zambia Police Distinguished Service Medal. It's the current type of Police Medal, as I can states that some of the Police Medal exist at least in 4 Type Type 1 used during the Kenneth Kaunda era Type 2 used thereafter Type 3 (planchet very similar to type 4), but with swiveling suspension. And a few were for sale around 2007-2008 Type 4 which only appears this year. Regards to all. Emmanuel
