Hmm, that seems true about the RZM tag. Hadn't thought of that. I figured that most good-quality fakes are of the textbook examples that everyone knows and is trying to buy (like a band with a multi-piece, ribbon swastika), and not of odd variations like this. Anyway, thanks for your help! -Matt

Hi everyone- A WWII vet gave these to me, and I have no idea what they are. Also, this collar tab. I could'nt keep it flat for the photo. I don't doubt their authenticity, I just can't ID them! Can anyone help? Thanks a lot! -Matt

Hi- The red and greenish one is an Army officers parade hat, and looks just fine. The one with the tan top is new to me. Probably either modern Russian, or right after the fall of the USSR. The pin on top might be right, but I'd wager that the star on the band was just put there by a seller to fill the space. All the hats that I have, or have seen, have a larger cockade there. If the large pin on the crown belongs there, it definitely denotes post-Soviet use. The tan color might associate it with tropical (African, mid-east, etc.) service, and the black might relate it to armor or artillery use. I've just never seen the two colors together! Hope that helped a bit. -Matt

Hi Everyone- This is my first post on this forum and I thought I'd take advantage of some of the expertise in this club. I recently bought this armband, which I'm hoping is authentic. It consists of a one-piece cloth swastika sewn onto a white cloth circle, which is then sewn onto the band itself. On the edges it has the black ribbons denoting an SS armband. Inside is a cloth label. The stitching is very fine and precise, and the piece is of generally high quality. It's not your typical armband, so I just wanted to make sure it's authentic. My guess (or hope) is that it's a private-purchase piece. I thank you all for your help in advance! -Matt
