Well, I am not sure about "more beautiful", but it is definitely much more rare compared to the "normal" version

Also I think he is saying that the ribbons we see might not be original to this medal? Is this possible? I think no, since I saw pretty salty specimens with pretty salty (and same) ribbons (simply check the medal ribbon in post 5 )
