Gents, received this one couple of weeks ago. Weights only 13,5 gram, rough painting, 3-piece constr., magnetic core, slightly vaulted, supposed to be 30's made or TR era. What do you think? Thx.

Nice display you have there Jim! May I ask you...how did you figure out attaching medals with ribbon to the display case? Did you use pins or did you sew them? I'm just creating my own display case and looking for a harmless method of attaching the medals. I found two problems with pins and sewing - pins allow me to move the medal whenever I want to but are damaging the ribbon leaving a permanent hole. Sewing with a transparent thread attaches all the medals firmly but changing their position afterwards is hell not talking about 4-5 permanent holes in the ribbon. Any ideas are welcome and appreciated!

The stamp reads: "K?niglich Bayerisches Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment" No chance to see the regiment's number..better scan needed. -
EK 1914 EK2 Certificate to a Baden Man
avadski replied to andy's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
Vorlaufiger Ausweiss (Preliminary Announcement/Notification) Auf Allerhoechsten Befehl (By supreme order of) Seiner Majestaet des Kaisers und Koenings (their majesty the emperor and the king) ist dem Infanterie Akt. Herzhauser Johann (is the reserve-infantryman Johann Herzhauser) den Eiserne Kreuz zweiter Klasse (with the Iron Cross 2nd class) verliehen worden. (awarded.) Im Felde den 13. Mai 1918 (In the field on May 13, 1918) signed by Oberst und Regiments-Kommandeur (Colonel and Commander of Regiment) The surname of that colonel was starting with 'von' i think. Try diggin' in WW1 archives for his full name. Hope my translation makes sense to you :) -

Hi fellas, couple of day ago I received this Meck 2nd class from an antique dealer. After closer examination I've noticed some 'quality' issues especially with the inner edges and the ring hold (hope you got my point ). Please have a look at the pics below and let me know what do you think.. Thx in advance.

Guys, many thanks for your input. It's really appreciated. After reading some old posts here on GMIC I was not so sure about its authenticity as someone said that an average price for that one would be like 75 EUR and that these were occasionally faked. I purchased mine like one week ago for 12 EUR so you can imagine that I started to be suspicious after reading such posts... I'm glad you like it Thanks again guys!
