Distinguished Service Medal- review
Garth Thompson replied to jonsey2001's topic in United States of America
I believe you are correct. This DSM looks to be a 1950s vintage. Is there any hallmark on the brooch. -
An older collector has asked me to help him dispose of his collection. He had very eclectic tastes and tried to acquire everything. This is his FFL insignia collection. I have a very limited knowledge of these badges. Do any of you see anything of value or rarity above the common? There isn't any of the R code reproductions in the group. TIA, Garth

I have been looking for a nice horizon blue French officer tunic at a decent price for some. I had some luck recently at a local militaria show. I believe this is a Captain of Engineers with overseas and wound chevron. I would like to know what the pair of vertical loops are for, possibly a War Academy badge. All comments welcome. Garth

I recently picked up another ESdG badge. The first one I aquired is a silver with the man's name and promotion number on the reverse. The recently aquired one appears to be gold gilt with no name. The attchment pins are similar but with slight differences. My question: Why is there a difference? TIA, Garth
