    1. Bought this WW2 British Tommy helmet from a local boot market recently. Dated 1939 with clear makers marks on both the helmet and the liner in good original condition and original finish and camo net.
    2. Thanks Guys for all your input. Amazing what a couple of pictures of medals can bring about. Very interesting information about Msr Fournat and the other resistance people executed by the Germans. I think this part of WW2 is sometimes overshadowed by the bigger events and its great to see that their memory is still kept alive today. Merci et adieu.
    3. Thanks for posting the certificate Michael. Was this a common thing for the award of French Medals? Seems harsh that after going to war for your country, you had to pay for your medals? I seem to remember a similar thing for the Belgian Yser cross and medal whereby cross recipients had to pay to change their medal to an updated version or it may have been the other way round?
    4. Thought I would share these 2 medals with you. The first being the Dardenelles campaign medal and the second the Orient campaign medal. unfortunately I have not yet photographed the backs and reframed them. But they are both original with all the necessary markings.
    5. Thanks Joe, this has been puzzling me as to what the mark could be? There is a soldered joint mark further round but this is on the outside of the ring (see the first picture at about 7 o'clock).
    6. I have in my collection this EK2 which has what appears to be some kind of (makers) mark on the suspension ring? Cannot identify as to what if anything the mark is? Any comments would be most welcome. (Will post picture of mark in next reply). Thanks.
    7. Just recently acquired a British Navy Winter hat and HMS Glowworm Tally seperately. Have attached the Tally and not the easiest thing to do? Not sure as to the age of the hat or the tally but looks good in my hat/helmet collection. If you go to the section "Great Britain/ Royal Navy History" I have posted an item with reference to my Uncle "Stoker 1st Class Wilfred James Findon" who was KIA aboard the Glowworm off Norway April 1940.
    8. What a fantastic looking clock. Does it keep good time? Would look great on the mantle piece and create a lot of discussion no doubt. Wunderbar!!!!!!!
    9. One thing I can tell you for certain (without naming names) is that my cousin served on the Conqueror during the Falklands campaign and worked in the torpedo room! However he does suffer mental problems these days as I believe a result of his Naval service? (This is not Bovine Splatter)
    10. I have a WW1 MC in it's case and although it is a bit grubby especially on the back of the medal and the ribbon I would not dream of cleaning it? This is a personal choice however but remember once cleaned this cannot be reversed?
    11. Leigh, thanks for info, you have reminded me that a while ago I did a bit of research on this J Baker and found a Baker who served in the RA or may have been RGA? Could be the same man? Thanks, Muckaroon.
    12. Leigh, I think post 5 the J may be his initial i.e. J baker? Thanks for post 6, yes bronze buttons and badge. (With reference to the suffix J, I do however have a WW1 wound badge with J before the number)? Cheers Muckaroon.
    13. WW1 pith helmet. Missing some parts including the liner but this was a gimme so no complaints. Inside there is a name Baker J 58349. Also stamped 162 and WD with ordnance mark.
