    1. You really want to know that ? There were from 18. Dec. 1914 till 13. June 1922 only 1.117 awards of the war merit cross with the ribbon for non-combatants Even less than the awards of the war merit medal.... Greetings Solomon
    2. No problem, I accidental saw it in the archive in Detmold, I visited last week. It was published just one day before: Title: Orden und Ehrenzeichen des F?rstenthums Lippe-Detmold 1778-1933 Autor: Reiner Schwark -200 sites (catalogue) with many colored photos of the awards, documents -very detailed information about history, weight, size, ribbons, number of awards etc.,etc. language: only german Cost: 69,90 ? (+ shipping) ISBN-No. 3-9808505-5-2 You have to order this book directly at the "Lippisches Landesmuseum Detmold" (www.lippisches-landesmuseum.de). It was a bit difficult to order...but after an email (shop@....) I got it. Greetings Solomon Here you can see an example (I just introduced this book on a other military-board):
    3. Here are the number of awards, I was searching for: There were 459 awards with the ribbon for combatants (yellow center at the ribbon) and 1.249 awards for non-combatans (white center), like my medal. Greetings Solomon
    4. First my congratulation...extremly nice and rare medal bar I can help you: Today a new published book which only deals with all (!!!) medals and orders from Lippe-Detmold arrived. This book shows all awards (the rarest inclusive), tells the history, and gives information about the number of awards, their sizes and weights, the colour of their ribbons, the manufactures etc, etc. At the end of this book all statutes are written down. There your can read the following: Statutes military merit medal given October, 25 in 1908 [...] ? 3. The military merit medal has to be mounted before the silver merit medal [...] (? 3. Die Milit?r-Verdienstmedaille wird vor der silbernen Verdienstmedaille getragen) The medal is mounted in the right way Greetings Solomon
    5. Really nice bar...i?m still searching for one like this... Your bar would get a very nice place in my collection, next to the other medals and orders from Lippe-Detmold Greetings Solomon
    6. My visit in Detmold brought some more information : The number of awards (according to the lists): golden merit medal: 173 awards (incl. 64 untill 1907) silver merit medal: 593 awards And there is another important information: Silver medal, made by Sy & Wagner, were all private sold and not awarded ! It?s similiar with the golden medal...only 16 medal, made by Sy & Wagner, were delievered to the Staatsministerium Lippe-Detmold. I don?t know if my medal is on of these 16. But i still like my both medals Greetings Solomon
    7. And here is a copy from a document (for the 3th class, but i?m sure the document for the other classes look similar) I have changed this document, i?m not allowed to show the original document, so i erased the name and the date. Greetings Solomon
    8. Okay, gentlemen here a some information you can?t find in a book (but in the archive in Detmold, I visited today ) There were only two manufactures of this rose: Richard Diller, Dresden (produced 1901-1914) He got the Order for art and science 3th class... C.F. Zimmermann (1917-1920) (only roses of the 1st class from Zimmermann are known!!!) Numbers of awards (according to the existing lists) 1st class with the crown 34 awards 2nd class with oakleaves 43 awards 3th class with ring 130 awards Only 4 women awarded the order for art and science with oakleaves Lippe-Detmold: 1) 14.2.1906 Prevosti, Franceschina (opera-singer /Sopran) *13. 5. 1866 Livorno, died 28. 12. 1938 Camogli b. Genua 2) 24.2.1911 Strandberg, Lilly geb. Wallenthin (art-name "Lilly Walleni" / opera-singer /Mezzosopran) *11. 8. 1875 Malm?, died 14. 5. 1920 Stockholm 3) 24.2.1911 Kaempfert, Anna (opera-singer)* 25.5. 1877 Stuttgart, died ??? 4) 23.12.1917 Hirschfelder, Martha geb. Nauen (profession unknown) * 6.6.1868 Mainz, died ??? I?m quite sure my rose belongs to the first woman (Franceschina Prevosti). This woman also got in 1904 the rose of the 3th class (She had to return the rose after she awarded the 2nd class). I know that the woman who awarded my rose, got also the order for art and science 3th class Schaumburg-Lippe. I found a document from this woman in which she said thank you to the Staatsministeium Lippe-Detmold and in which she mentioned the prince-regent from Schaumburg-Lippe. This is no evidence, but it is quite possible. Greetings Solomon
    9. And I also have a "Feldspange" with this war merit medal On this bar you can also find -iron cross 2nd class 1914 -war merit cross Lippe-Detmold -war merit medal Lippe-Detmold -medal for long service ("Dienstauszeichnung") -Kyffh?user-medal Greetings Solomon
    10. Hello, i think it?s time for another example from Lippe-Detmold, not as rare as the other things I allready showed, but still very nice: Military merit medal Lippe-Detmold (with swords on medal) The material of this medal is bronze. The ribbon gold-red-gold is an original one. This medal with swords on the medal was awarded since 1915 and about 1,945 times. The first model of this medal without swords is very rare and was awarded 1832-1915 (less than 150 times!). Even rarer are the medals which had their swords on the ribbon and which were given to colonial-combatants. Mr. Nimmergut says that there were only 4 awards, but i know somebody who is not in this list. Greetings Solomon
    11. It?s the design, that WAGNER used (crown and oakleaves, the writing of 1870). Btw...some other collectors identified this cross as a WAGNER-cross...i wasn?t able to do Greetings Solomon
    12. This cross belongs to that part of my collection i inherited last year There are so many fakes of this rare cross...that i felt forced to show it... Unfortunately i don?t have a fitting document...it?s very hard to find... Greetings Solomon
    13. ...and a original miniature of the iron cross 1870. The piece is fully made of silver...the perfect small brother of my cross
    14. Hello, after some stuff from Lippe-Detmold, it?s now time for a nice prussian award It?s a original awarded iron cross 2nd class 1870... Of course the cross contains three parts with a iron center. It?s not marked, but it is a typical piece from WAGNER. It was arwarded in 1870 or 1871...it?s not one of the late crosses. If anybody needs better pics, feel free to ask... Greetings Solomon
    15. Yes, thats right. I knew this, when i got this document I think there?ll be not a small number of husbands in upper positions who gave awards to the wifes. More interesting is that his wife had also a "Dr." in her name Greetings Solomon
    16. and the fitting document (but i bought it separate...) The document says that this medal (with the ribbon for non-combatants / white center) was given to woman (Frau Geheimrat Dr. Schroeder) I think this document might be quite rare Greetings Solomon
    17. Hi, i think it?s time for another nice example from the prinicipal Lippe-Detmold: War honor medal Lippe-Detmold with original ribbon and document The yellow-red-white ribbon is the original (for non-combatants!) The material is bronze I?m sorry, but i don?t know the number of awards...perhaps anyone can help me? The medal:
    18. ...marked with J.G. u. S. (stands for Jean Godet und Sohn)
    19. Hello, I?ll show you some pictures of my crown-order 4th class (1867-1918 2nd version) with the original case and ribbon. If you need better ones, please send me an email (or visit me in OWL ). Avers (with a little repair at the top)
    20. Thank you for your fantastic and detailed work I?m wondering that the number is so small...i thought it was much larger...(perhaps about 800...). The archive in Detmold is not far away from here (about 20 km)...when i?ll have more time (after my wedding ) , i?ll visit it and look what there also can be found out.... Greetings Solomon
