Okay, gentlemen here a some information you can?t find in a book (but in the archive in Detmold, I visited today ) There were only two manufactures of this rose: Richard Diller, Dresden (produced 1901-1914) He got the Order for art and science 3th class... C.F. Zimmermann (1917-1920) (only roses of the 1st class from Zimmermann are known!!!) Numbers of awards (according to the existing lists) 1st class with the crown 34 awards 2nd class with oakleaves 43 awards 3th class with ring 130 awards Only 4 women awarded the order for art and science with oakleaves Lippe-Detmold: 1) 14.2.1906 Prevosti, Franceschina (opera-singer /Sopran) *13. 5. 1866 Livorno, died 28. 12. 1938 Camogli b. Genua 2) 24.2.1911 Strandberg, Lilly geb. Wallenthin (art-name "Lilly Walleni" / opera-singer /Mezzosopran) *11. 8. 1875 Malm?, died 14. 5. 1920 Stockholm 3) 24.2.1911 Kaempfert, Anna (opera-singer)* 25.5. 1877 Stuttgart, died ??? 4) 23.12.1917 Hirschfelder, Martha geb. Nauen (profession unknown) * 6.6.1868 Mainz, died ??? I?m quite sure my rose belongs to the first woman (Franceschina Prevosti). This woman also got in 1904 the rose of the 3th class (She had to return the rose after she awarded the 2nd class). I know that the woman who awarded my rose, got also the order for art and science 3th class Schaumburg-Lippe. I found a document from this woman in which she said thank you to the Staatsministeium Lippe-Detmold and in which she mentioned the prince-regent from Schaumburg-Lippe. This is no evidence, but it is quite possible. Greetings Solomon

Hello, i think it?s time for another example from Lippe-Detmold, not as rare as the other things I allready showed, but still very nice: Military merit medal Lippe-Detmold (with swords on medal) The material of this medal is bronze. The ribbon gold-red-gold is an original one. This medal with swords on the medal was awarded since 1915 and about 1,945 times. The first model of this medal without swords is very rare and was awarded 1832-1915 (less than 150 times!). Even rarer are the medals which had their swords on the ribbon and which were given to colonial-combatants. Mr. Nimmergut says that there were only 4 awards, but i know somebody who is not in this list. Greetings Solomon

EK 1870 Original iron cross 2nd class 1870 with miniature
Solomon replied to Solomon's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
It?s the design, that WAGNER used (crown and oakleaves, the writing of 1870). Btw...some other collectors identified this cross as a WAGNER-cross...i wasn?t able to do Greetings Solomon -

Hello, after some stuff from Lippe-Detmold, it?s now time for a nice prussian award It?s a original awarded iron cross 2nd class 1870... Of course the cross contains three parts with a iron center. It?s not marked, but it is a typical piece from WAGNER. It was arwarded in 1870 or 1871...it?s not one of the late crosses. If anybody needs better pics, feel free to ask... Greetings Solomon

Thank you for your fantastic and detailed work I?m wondering that the number is so small...i thought it was much larger...(perhaps about 800...). The archive in Detmold is not far away from here (about 20 km)...when i?ll have more time (after my wedding ) , i?ll visit it and look what there also can be found out.... Greetings Solomon

Hello again, something quite rare just arrived today Honor cross 4th class 2nd divison Lippe-Detmold for non-combatants This cross was awarded from 1913-1918. The letter "L" at the back stands for "F?rst Leopold IV zur Lippe". The cross is made of silver. Around the rose in the center (little damaged) you can read "Fuer Treue und Verdienst" (...for loyality and honor...) The ribbon is an original one (gold-red-gold). There were about 1450 awards without swords in all classes (1st - 4th). Unfortunately i don?t know the numbers of each class. If anybody has a document that fits to it -feel free to show it ! I hope you like this cross too Greetings Solomon
