    1. Hi, again here is an nice example from Lippe-Detmold: War merit cross Lippe-Detmold with original paper bag and document There were about 18.000 awards for combatans (white-red-yellow ribbon) and only about 1000 for non-combatants (white center on ribbon). The paper bag is an original (with a old repair on one side) and a name written with a pencil on its back ("Redeker"). The document is also an original (but does not really match to the cross...i bought it seperate). I like very much its design On the reverse of the document you can find the statutes for the war merit cross ( eight paragraphs...). By the way the documents for the rare "war cross for heroic deeds" look very similar... My question: Does anybody own another paper bag for this cross? I?ve never seen a similar one... I?m quite sure that it is very rare, but other bags should exist... Greetings Solomon
    2. And now an another highlight of my collection and a real brother of the silver one: Golden merit-medal Lippe-Detmold on a single-bar This medal is also made of silver (painted golden). It?s the late design (from 1906-1918). At the ring you can find also the mark "S-W" for the manufactor Sy & Wagner, Berlin. ...the same manufactor of my silver award It is very rare, especially on a single-medalbar. By the way...exactely this medal was in the collection from the most famous Lippe-Detmold-collector Paul Weweler, I found the picture (with the damage at the top of the crown) in the catalogue of the auction. (I mentioned it in my article about the order for art and sience of Lippe-Detmold). The number of recipients again i don?t know, but i?m sure it will be less than 1000, perhaps less than 500. I hope you like them Greetings Solomon
    3. Hello, as requested, here are two more nice medals from Lippe-Detmold (Note: Look at them at your own risk! ) Silver merit-medal Lippe-Detmold with original case This medal is made of silver. It?s the late design (from 1906-1918) without the designer?s name "WEIGAND F." on it (awarded 1888-1905). At the front you can see the detailed head of prince Woldemar zur Lippe. At the back you can read "Fuer Treue und Verdienst" (For loyalty and merit) The blue-red-blue ribbon is of course the original. At the ring you can find the mark "S-W" for the manufactor Sy & Wagner, Berlin. There is also his stamp in the case... The number of recipients i don?t know, but i guess it will be less than 1000 awards. The opened case:
    4. Thank you for your very nice welcome on this board As David requested, i?ll show you some more nice awards of the principal Lippe-Detmold... @Bob I?m not sure, if the ribbon on your bar belongs to the shown order, but it is possible By the way, this bar seems to be from Saxony...the first ribbon surely belongs to a SEHO ( Saxe-Ernestine House Order ), the last ribbon might also be a Saxony-order or medal... Greetings Solomon
    5. Yes, this right...it was even quite difficult to find pictures of other orders like this. I found it in two auction-catalogues (one was the auction of the collection of Paul Weweler in 1995, the famoust collector of orders, medals and coins from Lippe-Detmold). An email-contact with Mr. Nimmergut helped me too... I?ve to add some more information, i forgot in my first article: The order of the 1.class has a crown instead of the oakleaves and was awarded 34 times... The 3.class has none of them, the number of awards i haven?t found out yet. All classes have the same design of the rose. Greetings Solomon
    6. Hello, This is my first real post on this board... I?ll show you the rarest highlight of my collection. Hope you enjoy it Order for Art and Science 2.class with oakleaves Principal Lippe-Detmold(Lippische Rose fuer Kunst und Wissenschaft 2.Klasse mit Eichenlaub Fuerstentum Lippe-Detmold) It was spent 9.June 1898 by Earl Ernst Casimir (Graf ERNST Casimir Friedrich Karl Eberhard Graf und Edler Herr zur Lippe-Biesterfeld 9.June 1842 - 26.September.1904) This order is made of silver, the thorns, the relief and the center on the back are painted golden. The white-red-white ribbon is the original ( This piece was given to a woman! ) There were only 43 awards of this class , five of them came from the principal Lippe. This piece is an garanteed original (i?ve several pictures from other original orders to compare with) The relief in the middle and the letters around this relief indentify an original, if it doesn?t look exactely like mine, it is a copy! Actually i?m searching for the name of the woman, who awarded this order. At the end of this month i?ll visit a archive in Detmold ? they told me, that there i can find a list of all names... Greetings Solomon P.S. If you find any mistakes in my english, please correct it
    7. Thank you! Normally i?m collecting everything from the prinicpal Lippe-Detmold (because i?m living near Detmold) and Imperial orders and medals... Sorry for my english, but i?ve to train it again, because i haven?t used it a long time Greetings Solomon
    8. My only piece from Waldeck: Silver merit-medal with swords in original case, with an iron cross 2.class 1914 inside (wrong side is shown)... (Early version...from 1901 till 1908) Greetings Solomon
    9. Hi, i?m new here in this forum. I?m a collector from Germany, living -believe it or not- in Bielefeld, about 20 km away from Detmold. Of course therefore I collect everything of Lippe-Detmold (and Imperial badges and medals...). Here is a photo of a small medal-bar with military merit medal Lippe-Detmold. Additional info: There were less than 2,000 awards of this medal (about 1,945 medals with swords). Greetings Solomon P.S. Sorry for my english..i?ve to train it more
