benten Do you know if the castle Hohenwerfen you show in the picture would be open to the public? I wonder about this because a gentlemen I work with lives a short drive from Salzburg. He lives here is the US now but still owns a home in Austria. Are castles such as these privately owned or municipal? I would give anything to spend the night in a place such as this. Anyway, another tinnie. VDA Tag des Deutchen sp.? Volkstums. Do you know what that letter is between the c and the t? Robert

Nick Thank you for showing your RAD items. Maybe we could start a thread on RAD to show all of the diferent makers and their design characteristics. Maybe start out with Arbeits Dank pin back...Arbeit Dank stick-pin both in red and yellow etc. etc. We could probably go a long way with a thread like that to include cap badges and other regalia. It would be a great learning experience for this still relatively inexpensive section of our hobby. Have a good day and night. Robert

Tinnies NSV Tinnie Database
BURGERHAUS replied to Wood's topic in Germany: Third Reich: Organisational Membership Badges & Tinnies
Pete Thank you for taking the time to post your nice tinnies. My scanner is so slow that I would have taken days to do that many. I show now a curious one. I would say a Winter Releif pin. I post the reverse also because of the marking. I beleive the attaching pin is a replacement though. This was the first of these that I had seen. Robert -
Nick Christmas comes early for you. I am curious about the RAD badge of honor in stick-pin. When you have the time and inclination, could you post a shot of the reverse. I have the pinback version which is marked so I am wondering about the stick-pin version. Also, is that a tie clasp I see in there as well? Merry Christmas and thank you for this forum. Robert

Benten This tinnie I found in Manion's Volume 3. Besides describing its' design there are some added remarks. "General WHW contribution badge without a date implying it was issued on a non-serial year basis for contributions." Maybe the Tieste reference books (which I unfortunately do not have) would mention a date/dates. Either way it is not an often encountered badge. I am still looking for it. Perhaps Pete would know more or have the Tieste reference available. Thanks for showing. Robert

[attachmentid=63624]Gents Very sorry for not being more of an active participant lately. Will remedy. I have been trying to interpret what is written in green around the outer edge of this label. I beleive it has something to do with ethical hunting of stag. Any help is greatly appreciated. I know this is not a period piece but the symbolism is still here.
